you got dissappointed didnt you. i went in the first week of July and they were starting to bloom. guess best time is 2nd week of july to 1st week of august. after that you might risking typhoon season
i am planning to backpack in japan in beginning of Sept, and Hokkaido is one of the places I wanna go, is the flower field good visit during that time?
choon yei Looking at their website it looks like most of their fields don't start blooming until late May. You can check out the blooming seasons here: www.farm-tomita.co.jp/en/farm/
We rented a car and drove.. but to take the train from Sapporo.. if you are going in Summer they have a couple of direct trains from Sapporo station. It's called the JR "Furano Lavender Express" limited express trains and takes about 2 hours. The rest of the year you can take the JR limited express from Sapporo to Takikawa, and the transfer to a local train to Furano
We visited a couple of the flower fields in Furano, but now I want to go back and see more!
Nice!
I like japan so much
I am bag-packing in October too!
Me and my family will be in Hokkaido on May 18-23... Are the flowers in Furano already in bloom or none yet to see? Thank you
