Eckington was always the best! Wow. I was in 2000 back in mid 90's, was in when it was 1891 Dronfield Detached Flight and then it became 2000 SQN Which i think was 97. Brings back memories! Nice to see Eckington being good! I use to love drill! Prefered it to exercises!
Wow that was brilliant. Ilove the twist. It must have taken you guys a while to get it all co-ordinated but it shows that drill, while important, can still be fun and entertaining!
I must say, being a F/S at a SQN in the South i find that very amuzing :D we gave an amazing farewell to one of my SGTs. we blind folded him, tied him to a chair and tied the chair to the fence, we then took his blind fold off and then got all the cadets to sponge his and then we got silly string and got the cadets to spray him in all of that, oh this was all done in wedgewoods :D
The team for this event had very short notice to prepare this, I think it took them just over a week to get ready, an hour or so a night, a great achievement :)
I swear every comment is people showing off their rank, it doesn't matter if you're a CWO or just a cadet, you can still enjoy drill! That might sound sad but deal with it
Any squadrons thinking of doing this should know that they wont beat Eckington Squadron, the first to do colour flight :) and the first to surprise the audience with a dance mid way through :)
@matcost92, There was only a very short time for the team to put this together and in the time they had they did a great job, all things considered. It was only for a fun performance with a twist not a competition so no big deal if timing was out slighly ey? :) thanks for watching
@matcost92 Having said that, it's a pretty good performance, very nice twist and fairly well timed, I'm just a sad old stickler for perfect posture and split second timing
@joshyedward I'm only 14 and i'm an air cadet drill is not easy and not the most exciting thing for a little kid to do cadets is for fun and any cadet will tell you drill is not their favorite thing to do and they don't want to bore us out of it were kids remember :)
@joshyedward and you know all about Drill because? ever taken a course in it? Besides... this display wasn't about perfect drill, it was about displaying uniformity and doing drill but mixing it up in exciting ways.... if they were the queens colour squadron then maybe it would need to be a little more tidy.... these are youngsters (between 13 and 17 generally) and its good that they enjoy this type of thing in the first place... Hope this answers any questions you may have!
May I ask, why did you call it a colour flight? I think your getting the idea from the Queens colour squadron? Well if that's the case then they are called the colour squadron because it is their duty to protect the Queens colour, so you wouldnt be associated with that. I admit, it sounds cool though!

My sqn are doing this, but we're doing a remix :D
Speaking as an ex-SNCO in Merseyside wing from a regional drill team, I have to say that the posture of this team is painful to look at
*cadets because want to do something like what we did with the shuffling dance
youre not meant to wear stabel belts of parade on more at my squadron
@GTArockstar15 funny, you have to be 13 to join the Air Cadets
ahhh theres only 1 cadet all the rest are cpls and sgts !!! lol
