Tom, this is great! I love the way you use the gear you have and are actually working, producing and finishing what you're working on. So many filmmakers, myself included spend more time acquiring gear and making test video. Thank you for all you do. Carry on!
Tom, you did wonderful job which I can learn alot of from. I was wondering how you did lighting. But, I'm pleased to know that you used no lighting gears for this project.
I first watched the movie and thought that it was one of those budget movies and was surprised to see how the movie was filmed and how little of gear you used to make such a nice cinematic movie. Great job!
Hello Tom Antos am from pakistan and i watch all of your tuts and your DVD's about film making am your Biggest Fan, i love this movie kindly make some stuff on BMPCC
Good job, Tom. you did it all by yourself and that is amazing..."dont look at what you dont have...but look at what you do have.."... i really liked this statement. the only negative point i have about this film is the color grading... i think its a bit oversaturated and overdone...the back is crushed and details are lost in some parts. anyway...good luck and thanks for sharing the journey.
Tom Antos A question for you. When shooting run-and-gun steady-cam shots.. what F-value to you keep for a good focus throughout the shot? always had a wee bit of trouble as to how to shoot those kinds of shots and keep a good focus.. great BTS and shortfilm! cheers. /Benny.
cinexstudios the fstop really depends on the lens focal length and also what type of a shot I am doing. there is no perfect setting that I use on my steadicam shots.
Tom Antos that i do get. Was thinking more in a general sense.. like do you go extra shallow/deep for steadycam shots to keep focus, or do you use autofocus - or simly just set a F-stop, set focus and try to maintain the same distance thoughout the shot? :) cheers!
+Tom Antos ahh okay I asked because that long long road looked like the street off of ninth line ive filmed there its a dope location small pony farm across the street from a forest dope location. And lakeshore? Aha I'm about to go find the location an test my gh4 aha
If you're from the U.S., use 24fps and a 1/48th shutter speed (or double whatever the framerate is). Some cameras don't have a 1/48 option so just use 1/50. Unless you want less motion blur. Than go with a higher shutter speed. Same if you want more motion blur. Use a lower shutter speed.
***** This is one of the first Versions. You can get it for about 600 Bucks on Ebay or Amazon with similar stuff like the Screen. But you also can take a look at the newest one, which is called the Phantom 3. Nice gear with a 4K or if you wanna spend less money, with a 1080p cam. Look at the DJI website and don´t forget to check the laws, that restricted the use of a drone (better call it Multicopter).

Done a wonderful film... I appreciate the way you simplified the art of movie making in tight budget.. All the best
Tom's video is always inspiring. It taught me how simple gears and little money I can have but still create good cinematography :)
I first watched the movie and thought that it was one of those budget movies and was surprised to see how the movie was filmed and how little of gear you used to make such a nice cinematic movie. Great job!

Please tell me: Shutter Speed and fps??
Thank you so much
The shutter should be 50 and fps should be 24 or 25
Sashtastic Productions
Thank you, But 25 fps or 24 fps?
