"Gunshot" has numerous different interpretations. Abusive relationships, toxic internal thoughts, etc. And to answer your question of whether BM always has his shirt off...He's the head of the "big tiddie committee" for a reason. ;P

If I remember correctly I heard BM (the shirtless man) talk to Eric Nam on K-pop Daebak that the song was supposed to describe what it might feel like if you were going through an unhealthy relationship. When you know at that exact moment when you realize that this person is not right for you and you fully understand that the best thing for you to do is leave.
To me most of KARD's music isn't as heavy hitting and dark as Gunshot is.

KARD is a group formed by: two girls Somin and Jiwoo and two boys BM and J seph. As far as I know, they are the only mixed group still active today (most of them split up)
It is a super varied group. All four of them can rap, sing and dance. They have songs with many styles.
This group is not so valued in Korea, for that, mostly BM produces and writes the songs (sometimes j seph writes too). They are very known in Latin America.
It would be great if you keep listening to them, you won't regret it.
Checkmate is another co-ed group with 3 males and 2 females which debuted on September 21st, 2020

Urban Zakapa is probably one of the more well known co-ed groups, since Jo Hyun-ah is a talented and well respected vocalist in her own right. They are still together and still active.
Se So Neon, [BYUL, DAL] is a Coed Trio, Lubless is a Coed Trio that debuted in January of this year, Chooncho is a Coed Trio. Walwari is a Coed trio. Checkmate is a Coed Group that debuted in September. K-Tigers Zero is a Massive 12 member coed Group.
Under "Bands" Probably one of the most famous is Jaurim, Jaurim's Kim Yoon-ah is extremely well known. Monni, is a Coed Band, Cherry Filter is probably one of the most popular non-idol rock bands in South Korea, Hertz is a cOed band that debuted in August of this year. Former AOA Black's Yookyoung is technically in a Coed Group with Zune.
There a quite a few coed groups that are making a living through music. You just have to look a little bit below the Surface.
Like Dreamcatcher, Kard is more popular outside of Korea, they tend to have tropical house vibe. the blonde rapper BM has this joke of him being the head of the big tiddie committee but he used its popularity to make merch of the joke to support breast cancer. he's such a homeboy

Random fact again (sorry, my insomnia heart makes always connections): the girls (Jiwoo and Somin) are friends with Yoohyeon and Dami. Jiwoo (the blonde one) was on a show called Good girl and Yoohyeon sent her messages saying Jiwoo was cute (the stages were pretty far from cute though😂). Sorry again, just wanted to share because I love interactions between groups
Dami really look up to Somin she mentioned in her interview and BM gave a big praise to Dreamcatcher on his DIVE interview last month and he also gave Gahyeon a lryic copy sheet you can see this on whats in my bag vlog of Gahyeon

Yeah KARD it's two guys and two girls, however, our Lord and savior J. Seph (black haired one) left for his military service, so you could say the group is... Well... Suffering.

Love kard they’re a lot like dreamcatcher with how they’re treated by Korea plus they have a great brother sister type relationship and aren’t shy with each other or uncomfortable like most idols of the opposite sex
Yes they are a coed group and they're one of the few currently active in Kpop. Historically, Coed Idol groups don't seem to do very well compared to the boy or girl groups. So as a result, not many companies produce or debut coed groups. There's probably like 60 groups who debut in a year, yet probably less than 10 known coed idol groups have debuted in the past decade. KARD is probably the most successful recent attempt at a coed group and they're doing quite well internationally. Unfortunately, they're still underrated in Korea, it seems like the market there hasn't quite gasped coed groups. But they are growing and the company seems to have focused on marketing them internationally because they have an audience there.
There is an incredibly adorable clip of Dami being super excited after getting close to a particular KARD member and being able to use informal speech with her now.
KARD it's an amazing group and very popular in Latin-American countries, specially in Brazil.
Gunshot it's the most harder vídeo they are made, and personally my favorites MV's are: You in Me, Don't Recall , Rumor and Trust Me.
I think your gonna love "Trust Me", it's a ballad and I don't like manny ballads in general, but this it's pretty.

KARD is the group that breaks you of "girl group" or "boy group" labels. They're likely also the group that shows you a more adult side of kpop groups.
Add. edit: I cannot recommend enough that you try some of their more tropical/ summer vibe songs. (Hola Hola, Ride on the Wind) "Rumor" is a different vibe but let it go, same with "You in Me".
That's kinda what you have from KARD: Summer vibe, dark vibe, and party vibe.
And if you still haven't heard "Dumb Litty" then you might want to. It encapsulates them right now as club artists but also shows a bit into the process they've had if you follow that BM produced the beat.

For the info, they are not the first co-ed group in kpop but they are probably the most successful (even if previous ones had a relative success). And there is also a new recent one.

My top songs of them are : Rumor(their best song in my opinion), oh nana( those are considered pre debut songs). From their after debut: You In Me, and Gunshot.But I love all of their songs.
They are known for their unique beats.
KARD is a great grup, they've a lot of fans in latinoamerica. Last year their concert in Mexico was crazy, so amaizing. Sadly Korea don't see the talent of these beautiful ppl.

You should watch GOOD GIRL. It’s a competition show with already established queens within the kpop/ rap community. It’s charming ,shows of the girls personalities and epic singing/ rap abilities.
Please listen to some of their older songs such as "You in me", "Rumor", "Don't recall", "oh nana" etc. 😊 KARD is such an understated group who deserve so much more love and attention!

I never imagined you would react to KARD, they’re truly amazing, one of my favorite groups and definitely worth to stan.
Please react to their older songs I think you would like those better. They started with a different kind of concept more EDM and with a tropical vibe. They’ve definitely changed into a darker concept but it is still so good and unique. They just keep getting better and better.
They tend to be very latin influenced and as a Latina I live for it. I think if you give them a chance you’ll like them too.
We probably aren’t getting more KARD, but I’ve watched this video like 20 times lol. “You In Me” is a beautiful song. “Oh NaNa” & “Holla Holla” are great summer bops too!
Oh my gosh, KARD! Yes, they are co-ed. The guy always without his shirt is BM (Big Matthew). He's from LA, and the founder of the kpop "Big Tiddie Gang" which is actually a huge meme that turned into good. He's a great person and also helps produce some of their music. The other guy is J.Seph, and he is also amazing! He's a bit of a goofball as well. Currently he's enlisted in the Korean military (as all Korean men have to serve for about two years before they turn 30) but they haven't come back without him yet, as Gunshot happened only a month or two ago. Th girl with the higher voice you liked is Somin, and she's also a sweetheart. She's an AMAZING vocalist. The girl with the slightly lower voice is Jiwoo and also the maknae. She's quite feisty, and appeared on the show Good Girl if you want to see her really show off. KARD is such an AMAZING group, but they're severely underrated in Korea. I think you'd really like Red Moon and Hola Hola to start! Also yeah, they are a bit older. Because they're also co-ed, they can do sexy concepts really well. I hope you'll give them more of a chance, since they do have lighter stuff too!

BM is actually American! He's the head of the Big Tiddie Committee and he has NO filter whatsoever. His live streams are hilarious but he is also the sweetest guy. He made some merch for fans to buy that said "Big Tiddie Committee" on it and he donated ALL the proceeds to breast cancer awareness funds.

that gunshot mv really has a great message. personally, i think it's picturing how an artist with their persona who has lonely without the fans but the fans can be careless with them, and worst the more they got famous (loved) they also get more hate. you can also some scenes picturing some keyboard warrior, there also some scenes where 4 of them trapped in some plastic room with health tools and a camera showing that their real self wounded is actually like their real self trapped in a murder scene in front of that camera. and that final scene kinda picturing that their real wounded self finally kills their persona (picturing some of the artists from Korean got mental health issue or even suicide because of hatters)

KARD is an underrated talented group it is really sad that only few people appreciate this group.
Gunshot is about online hate basically. You see a lot of symbols pointing to people who supposedly "love" them (like the cameras, the sharp pencil, paper gun), but hurt them in various ways. The lyrics are also about that. I think it's a really good take on how toxic the stan culture can be and what it does to idols.
And yeah as a bisexual, they make me struggle a lot 😂
there’s a newly debuted co-ed group called checkmate with the single called “drum”! there also used to be a co-ed subunit of soloist hyuna and pentagon members hui and edawn (now former member and a soloist under the name dawn) with 2 mv’s “365 fresh” and “retro future” if you ever find the time to react to them you should!
oh you like rappers with a dark voice? you should definetly check out Ateez. I like many differnet girlgroups and also kard as a co-ed but Ateez is the only Boygroup i really stan. These are two of their more loud bombastic songs which they have more of, but they also have some summer bops like Hola Hola and Ride on the Wind, if thats more your taste :) They just came back with "Ring the Alarm" which is a little lighter and with really pretty vocals from the girls
I’d highly recommend starting your reactions with their debut Oh Nana. KARD songs were super chill yet catchy bops for the first few years before transitioning into the more hardcore sounds, which they stuck to after finally finding success in that department. I like their early stuff much better, but I can’t blame them for going more mainstream since that’s what brought them their fame. They deserve that success - I mean, you should hear them singing live with their hardcore choreos. They’re insanely talented.

BM, Matthew [King card] (Tall, blonde): born and raised in LA. Rapper, owns StaydiumLa clothing line, unofficial leader of the group. Writes and composes songs for the group.
J.seph [Ace card] (darker hair): rapper, sub vocalist, oldest. Along with BM writes some of the groups lyrics
Somin [black joker] (sweeter voice/darker hair): former member of April and Puretty, main vocalist, has own UA-cam channel MinnyJ.
Jiwoo [colored joker] (darker hair): lead vocalist, sub rapper, maknae. Was on the show Good Girl.

I love KARD and loved your reaction! It's good that yout honest about your opinion. From this I know that not every KARD song will be for you (they have more songs like these, which I actualy love). But fear not! KARD actualy has a lot of happy more lightharted songs.
Here comes a long commend. First about Gunshot. It was dark for a reason. The song was adressing verbal abuse and thw video contained a lot of symbolism. They have spoken about this in interviews and it even touches on fanwars and online hate comments, which is something rarely adressed by the kpop industrie.
Some info on KARD. KARD is a co-ed group under DSP media. They debuted in 2017 but had 3 very succesful predebut singles starting from 2016. They are gaining popularity in Korea but are still underated. They are way more popular internationaly, especialy in Latin America. Their fanbase in Brazil for example is lather than in Korea. They even did a pre-debut world tour amd have done one evry year exept 2020 (COVID). The reason for their popularity oveeseas is largely because of the Latin ingluenslce troughout yheir discography. They even did full covers in Spanish amd Porugese for their Latin American and Hispanic fans.
The members:
B.M. (Big Matthew). Born 1992. Hes from L.A. hes the tall muscle man with the deep voice. I'll give you some extra info on him. He is known for having no filter and forgetting he's an idol. He says a lot of funny stuf on V-lives. He also often adresses sociatel issues and isn't afraid to voice his opinions. Another fun fact. He's the president of the Big Tiddie Commitee. He talked in a Vlive about his gym training and that he likes to train his chest or as he called it "tiddies". This turned into a meme, which evolved in to him selling Big Tiddie Gang merch (hodies) of which the profits go to breastcancer research. He talked about releasing a new clothing line of which the profits go to a foundation against bullying and helping victims.
J.Seph. Born 1992. The other male. He's a very talented rapper and a complete dorky crackhead. He seems the most serious but is not. He joined the Korean army on the 5th of October and will be gone till April 2022 onfortunately. Gunshot was his last comeback before enlisting.
Somin. Born 1996. The girl with purple hair in Gunshot, brown hair in Bomb Bomb. You liked her voice a lot. Before KARD she debut as the leader of April, but left because she wanted to do different music. She jas her own youtube channel called Minny J which is mostly focused on makeup. She's an absolute sweetheart.
Jiwoo. Born 1996. The Maknae. The girl with black and white hair in Gunshot and blond hair in Bomb Bomb. Jiwoo is my bias and ultimate female bias alongsid Hwasa Despite being a very good singer with a unique little bit lower tone (you should hear her speaking voice), she's actualy yarined as a rapper and pretty darn good. She has proven in KARD that she is a great singer too and has been aomgine more and more. She actualy used to be tone deaf, but overcame that with practice. The duality is insane with her. Might even be more than Hwasa. In these MV's she was very fierce and seemes like a bad B. Especialy in Gunshot. On stage she might be even more fierce (in these lind of songs). In some situation her personality matches this. She doesn't take crap and has a resting b*** face. However, she can be the most adorable sweet little cinnammon roll. Her very loud and whole heartly laugh is adorable and shocking the first time you hear it.
Music specially for you.
If you want to hear their more light and upbeat songs, you'll have to look at older MV's or some more resent B-sides. I think you'll love Hola Hola and Ride On The Wind. These MV's have a way more happy sumary vibe as well as the MV's. As a vocal couch I think Trust Me and Knocking On My Heavens door would be nice. Trust me is a balad and Knocking On My Heavens Door is a light R&B song. If you want to hear their live vocals I suggest whatching the live band session they did of Gunshot. The aomg which you already thought was a bop has a much lighter more reggae kind of vibe and you can hear their live vocals without a backing track. Plus BM with pink hair.

Lastly one of the main reasons KARD is my favorite group at the moment alongside BTS and Mamamoo is their persobalities. They are such fun and loving people who can be comete crackheads but can also be serious when needed. They are not afraid to adres sociatal issues and are very real in interviews. They openly support the LGBT community. There are so many fancams of Jiwoo waving the rainbow flag at concerts and wrapping it around her, carrying it for several songs. A bisexual fan asked BM for advice on how to tell his lived ones in a Vlive. BM took is veey seriously and gave tried to give the beat advice je could. He was very respectful and mentioned how it was nothing strange to him and he knew many hay and bisexuals friends from when he was a dancer in the U.S.
In vlives despite not realy speaking English, she doesn't skip Emglish questions but tries to read the out loud to yhe amswer them in English (for a Korean Idol she pretty good though and can read pretty much evrything in English). If you whatch their interactions or a guide I think you will warm up to them and possibly fall in love with them.

Why is no one mentioning they made this song for the victims of ciberbullying? Just like Dreamcatcher's actual story arc, KARD made this song to protest against it also the story within the MV is different, in the MV there are 2 sides of them, one side does bad things that are all reflected on the other side and thus they are wounded, in the end hurt Jiwoo kills her "bad" self because as she last sings "she has bled enough"

Co-Ed groups were big in the 90s but not so much these days. Kard is the only active idol group I know of although there are a few older groups/bands that aren’t idols that are still together & release music every so often so not really kpop but moreso the korean music scene. With the rise of fandom culture it’s easy to see why co-ed groups generally don’t do so well. Young fans don’t want attractive members of the opposite sex next to their favorite idols this was actually a topic addressed in a korean show where they discussed the current korean music industry. I’m not a kard stan but I can appreciate that they bring something different to the table. Sadly they aren’t very popular in korea (which is why I think they don’t get into much hot water for their concepts etc) but I’ve heard they are really popular in Latin America
Oh Nana, and Don't Recall are one of the best bops they have too. Hola Hola too. Mostly their songs has that electronic touch, drops and bops but so far the logest Co-Ed group to have exist and been promoting. Their group tho isn't too much known in Korea. They garnered a lot of fans internationally specially in Brazil I think? I hope this group will continue once J.seph returns.

a lot of Kard's early stuff is less intense than their 2019-2020 songs, they're particularly known for tropical house/summer songs like Oh Nana and Don't Recall

I really like them a lot especially because I love the fact that we have male voices and female voices in a song which adds a lot of color 😍 if you ever want to react to more, you should consider "Red Moon" and a show adaptation called Good Girl (song:"Good Girl - Witch") where one of the 2 girls (Jiwoo) participated as well. You might not like it because its basically rap based, but you might also surprise me and like it haha.

In fact, since Oct 5th, J. Seph (the dark-haired guy) is in the army but BM (the shirtless guy) doesn't have to join it cause he was born in the U.S.
KARD is so underrated. As you can tell from other comments J.seph (the guy with black hair) enlisted in the military recently. BM (who I call Matt because...I'm not calling someone BM) is actually Korean-American from LA. The girls (Somin and Jiwoo) are Korean. They're really doing their own thing, and you never know what kind of music they will put out next. Matt actually does a podcast called Get Real with other English speaking idols if you ever want to check it out on YT AND you'll see Big Tiddie Gang memes about him because of his clothing line that supports breast cancer awareness

After I discovered Dreamcatcher I started looking for other groups like them, but didn't find any. Instead I found Kard who are also unique and defy mainstream Kpop to do their own thing. In that, they are very much like Dreamcatcher. I like some of their songs, especially You in Me, and some I don't like. Their musical style is all over the place so you'll probably find something you like. Just like Dreamcatcher, you won't find them winning music show awards. Yet.
OMG 💗🔥 THANKS FOR THIS! you should check out their older songs! they used to have a whole different concept from the newer songs. they used to have tropical & edm sounds. it has the summer & youth vibes and was litterally a bop. listen to 'HOLA HOLA', 'ride on the wind', and 'oh na na'!

Don't Recall is (still) my favorite KARD song, despite being a pre-official-debut release. It really showcases what they've got, using the male and female voices to good effect together.
