Btw, in the end, it comes down to who has the best support and best pilots. A flight of F-16's flying blind against a flight of 21's with good pilots, awacs and intel would face a tough day.
Man that was awesome! When I first clicked and saw the length I was like "Eff this im not sitting here for 18 minutes!" But that was WELL executed and played out just like a movie. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Bravo. Good, good stuff!

We lost two, mainly due to the SAMs, but we downed a shit ton. Lines package downed a few before they got to help me, and I got 4 on my own. All and all I'd say that we took down at least 10 if not more.
The best f16 simulator ever :P It was originally designed to train f-16 pilots in the late 80's. BMS is a community version of falcon 4.0 that has made huge improvements on making the avionics as real as possible since it already has a damn near 100% accurate flight model. Also the next big release will have an f-18 hornet that will have a pretty accurate flight model tested by real f-18 pilots. Granted the game is designed around the f16 so your stuck using f16 avionics in the f18 but still. :)
totally, but I realized that those bombs didn't drop. On my first pass they did, but the second pass I guess I was too low? I'm still learning the settings for the F-16 but it appears that's what happened, so I was clear to dive in.
Also the recon not being 100% accurate all of the time is one of the things that makes the campaign of falcon so amazing. Even in real life sometimes when you plan a mission targets move or sam's end up being in places not previously known about. Same thing happens in Falcon's campaigns say you do a preplanned CAS on a tank battalion if they are on the move they will not be at the steerpoint anymore so you need to hunt them down generally they are not to far away though. :)
I've had to sever my arm and leg, then sacrifice a goat for the gods and donate my liver to get it to work... It literally brings men to their knees when it comes to setting up BMS on your own for the first time. I'm sure there is a guide out there, but I got my friends to help me with that. It's easy after your first time. Kinda like murder.
We are currently in the mood for fast fighters, and FC3 is not offering realism due to their messing around with the missiles. Till they fix it, we wont go back. A-10 is still fine though.

You will want to read the BMS manuals the f4 manuals use the older avionics that BMS has changed a lot. When you download bms it will come with a dash1 manual and the regular manual they are located in the falcon folder under docs under falcon BMS manuals.
Absolutely no fuel left to fight (I landed with 400 pounds left). Practically no missiles left either. That 21 was just inside of the threat circle but not too close yet, and that missile launch came from the SA 8 site, which I dodged, not from the single 21 that was on the RWR that went cold right after the missile launch.
Fighting Mig-21s in falcon is like fighting TIE Fighters in x-wing alliance. Easy to kill when caught alone, they put up exciting and relatively low risk fights when in numbers, and can get you in trouble if you are careless
Something is weird in the BMS flight physics. Like when you saw me pulling and rolling, I was FULL STICK left/right/up/down, and that bitch was just taking a stroll... Like I felt an A-10 was more maneuverable at that point...
That was bad ass. I have this game, i just never could figure it out, I have a full stick setup with throttle and everything, need to get back into it.
No it's not. There is essentially no slip and slide. You can't do things in it that a real F-16 can... it feels limited. So on the flight physics side, FC3 is more in depth than falcon ever was. Which is a shame. Obviously the in flight computer gets in the way of a lot of things, but you would still be able to snap the nose for a second before sinking. Can't do that here.

Great stuff, I've been flying DCS world exclusively of late but after watching this I think I'll have to dig out Falcon 4 and install the BMS mod. It looks like a ton of fun although I guess much of that was down to you guys.
Wow you guys are fast when it comes to identifying bandits and friendlies during dogfights. My squad has problems when shit hits the fan. We waste so much time figuring out which is which.
I don't think it's actually required but no one plays without it so u could say it's essential, I personally wouldn't even dare to think any other configuration except joystick

Really cool video. I've been playing around with DCS A10 but the dog fighting is no good of course. I'll have to look at Falcon BMS. I can't really use my CHProthrottle and Combatstick for the A10 because the setup is for the F16
