Sorry to butt in, but toxic masculinity isn't just for “woke people.” Toxic masculinity is referring to negative aspects of society's perceptions of what masculinity is. It's pretty much in a realm of its own and not actually masculinity. The biggest difference between the two is that toxic masculinity hurts other people (men, women, children, etc.), which is something masculinity does not do and is quite un-masculine. It might not be that his ideology is popular, it’s just a lot of people don’t care that someone else can’t fit into the clothes they want to buy. So long as the clothes look good.
Curious question - if you're plus sized, why do you even want to waste money on athleisure wear? just wear some cheap stuff and buy the nice stuff only once you're at your target goal. Unless of course you want to stay plus sized and only look like you exercise but not really have an end goal.
im fat and work out so to give u some insight into my thought process, i’d want to buy athleisure wear because it makes me feel more confident to work out plus it helps me feel less of an outcast. i feel empowered by what i wear, so when i wear athleisure, i feel more motivated to stick to my fitness goals. it doesnt matter that it wont fit properly after i lose weight because if it helps put me in the right mindset to be more active, it’s not a waste of money long term. also i wont lose weight so fast like dropping a size in a month what haha i’d probs be wearing those clothes for at least a year (i go slow and steady :))

Honestly, it’s embarrassing the way he fumbled the bag. Fatphobe or not, he’s foolish and instead of just staying silent, he gave the audience a diary entry. No one cares about that
I mean.... I get what you're saying but catering to more people doesn't necessarily mean more money and to cater to more people, you also need to be a huge franchise which maybe for this guy will take at least another 15years minimum if he gets lucky. An example would be Victoria Secret, they only started having plus size in recent years and all along their targeted audience were these skinny ladies and it never failed to make them money cause they had a strong branding. Even after the plus size opens up, their main source is still from their main stream skinny girls lingerie. But of course this guy's marketing strategy was all over the place and made no sense.

I think he wants his brand to have an exclusive image of fitness, hence only fit models are used. There are brands out there that would rather burn their unsold product then sell it at a discount. XXXL size is not necessarily for fat people but also those with bigger build or like loose clothing. 🤔
The solution is to not leave money on the table. If the brand has sizes that can fit plus models, you should have models that fit the clothes. I came into the video thinking he only had a small range like having a S-M-L-XL range that are very small increments and don't relate to real sizes. You don't need one in every size but a couple models and noting the size they are wearing is fine. That way the person can posit, "Oh I'm not as big as the XX person, I'll get XL instead" or "My build is like that person so I can buy stuff that looks good on them." Athleisure is worn by people who don't work out or while they aren't working out.

Are you really surprised he thinks this way . I watch Asian tv all the time , I rarely watch America tv. Every show I watch that had a obese person, they fat shamed them . I watch in subtitle and they call them fatty, show them eating all the time like animals, call them ugly I can go on . So I assumed that’s how most feel about obese people. I’m trying to think about if I ever seen a overweight person in a show that didn’t get shamed ( Asian Tv) . I’m like , this must be the norm for them bcse I never read anything about fat shaming being wrong in their tabloids . I watch C-Drama , K- Drama you name it I’m watching it . If shows in the US constantly fat shame their actor on shows they will be called out for it . If you are against this type of behavior call out the industries . This guy fat shaming is wrong but he’s a product of his environment, can be mad at him . Speaking from a obese point of view,.
As someone who studied market all I have to say is if he is studying any of my diploma course and he use his essay he show in his TikTok for his report in any of his marketing courses he is going to fail.
Kind of make sense. The end game is always to become fit and "sexy", so the marketing has to be aspirational. No one aspires to be a plus size despite all the body positivity movement, so why would he use a plus size model? That's literally the starting point for many people.
Its idiotic thinking. EVERYONE wants to workout or in the case of women, want to look like they workout. There are plenty of companies that know this and are flourishing. It's his loss.
While I agree that he should have been more tactful and not showcase his ideal go-to type of size for advertising his clothing brand, what I do not agree with is how so many people keep harping on about the owner/brand being fatphobic or fat-shaming. Before you starting feeling self-righteous, I myself have been obese since I was a kid. I know firsthand what it is like to be made fun of, fat-shamed, even laughed at by people I thought were my friends. I still am obese to this day, but I took the proactive step to start exercising and can finally fit into smaller sized shirts. All these woke nonsense about how you should be content with your overweight body, you guys need to wake up. Science itself has proven that you are much more likely to die earlier when you are fat/obese than if you are on the other end of the scale. And you ultimately have the final choice; if you feel offended, then don't buy from the brand. All these influencers promoting their self-righteous views of how it is ok to be satisfied with your plus-sized body, when you should be using whatever influential power you have (however miniscule) to promote healthier lifestyles to your followers. This is a new clothing brand that just opened less than 2 years ago, and you people find it totally acceptable to rag on the brand just because the owner doesn't conform to your woke ideals of having plus-sized models. And you wonder why more foreign brands are imported. Lol.
I don’t think you understood the criticism - having plus size models isn’t mandatory but it makes sense for plus size ppl interested in buying from the brand if they can see what the clothes look like on a bigger body

Dancers wear oversized clothes so that may be why
Negative words cannot be used in marketing
I *was* going to get a tee from the brand, then this debacle happened. A bit embarrassing to walk around in one now. 😅
@@sunrae7680 as mentioned in the video, this clothing brand does sell plus size, they just don't use plus size models.
@@Phlegm_Thrower then why does he goes on a tangent on toxic masculinity crap?
CB la, ppl are too soft nowadays. Everything also get triggered
Why should any company use plus size models? Are they cheaper than regular sized models?
Lol.
So have you been picked yet?
I don’t think you understood the criticism - having plus size models isn’t mandatory but it makes sense for plus size ppl interested in buying from the brand if they can see what the clothes look like on a bigger body
