This is just so beautiful and again proves one big point, there are no dumb animals - but plenty of dumb humans. Mr. Aspinall, you are a very special person. Thank you for sharing this and your magical reunion with us all.
Yeah, great story here. However, your reasoning is off. If critical thinking and reason are applied in, really, the most basic algebraic sense, then this absolutely does nothing to prove that there are no dumb animals. Zero. Just think about all the ones that run under our cars when we drive when they could have gone anywhere else and lived. Yeah, plenty of dumb animals. Stupidity rears its head from the top to the bottom of the life spectrum. It's, in my opinion, at least partially responsible for your comment.
To have such a strong connection to an animal that's not human, that gives off strong emotions and affection more then any pet, to have an animal remember you and show care towards you, is just amazing. I would love to make friends with a gorilla.
Wow, this has made my day, this little guy was one of the first hand-reared boys I was introduced to when doing a study for the animal manager, at the time, a ong way back, I remember Kwibi was fascinated my my sparkly watch and always had a fiddle with it when I came in to say hello to him and jalta. I miss him them all so very much but happy to see him free and well.
He will miss you, Mr. Aspinall, and that is sad. He does have his family love, and I hope there are no future negative encounters with other humans. I dearly love Gorillas, thank you to all of you that are committed as you are. I will donate what I am able.
have damian & kwibi visited each other recently. their bond is so moving. it must have been emotionally difficult for them both when they said goodbye in this video.
It's so sweet how the 10 year old gorilla recognized him and couldn't stop hugging him...I hope that one day all humans and gorillas can live together in peace without one dominating the other. How beautiful :-)
That was very amazing that after 5 years he still treated you as his best friend. Was his family one he met in the wild, or were they raised along with Aspinall?
This video made me SAD! Why did he go there at all? Poor Kwibi, gets to feel abandoned all over again once they use raisins to lure (fool) him away from hugging his dad so he can leave him behind again. Who benefited from this reunion? Reminded me of a child running in the dust chasing their father's car down the road as he drives off, abandoning him. Man gets to leave feeling loved, beast gets to feel loss and confusion again. Typical of us self-centered humans.
I felt a bit of that myself. I'm not saying these animals don't remember Damien, they prob do... but I've just watched a film of a reunification of a adult daughter meeting an ape she last met when aged 3. He, Damien, will ❤be recognisable as he's been an adult these past 13-15yrs but she was a little girl and now she's a tall woman. I'm not knocking it, I just think a wholesome spin has been put on some interactions which are just due to the novelty of an ape being hugged by a human rather than the animal actually remembering them.
I saw this video many many times, every single time brings tears to my eyes, because i try to understan why some people likes to kill this beautiful creatures, thank you for what you doing to all of this beautiful creautres in your fundation,i being follow you for long time because i really love what you doing and now with freya your beautiful daugther, happy new year sir ❤
It reminds me of Sir Anthony Hopkins in ''Instinct''... This kinkd of love is unique and precious; animals may show love in a way only few humans are capable to do it...
She's an Aspinall, a British aristocrat English gorilla 🦍 conservationists. Her father and grandfather dedicated their lives to save gorillas in the wild. She has grown up with them., and they see her as one of their family! 🦍
Hmmm, I said earlier this is likely up near Mayebout and Belinga, but now I think it is perhaps in the Batéké Plateau. Still amazing. Good for Aspinall for returning these animals to the wild. Let's hope they thrive.

I cant stop watching Damien's reunion with Kwibi. I was so happy for the reunion but very sad when Damien had to leave.

I wished you visited Kwibi again over the years. He missed you so much... You were his world....
They treat him as he belong to their family!! So cute.
I love this so much, The way the kids climbed all over Tom it's like their uncle has come to visit

They really exhibit the same type emotions as we do and that’s pretty amazing to witness

Damn ninja cutting onions ;___;
Lovely! This brings hope in humanity.
The more videos like this I watch, the more I fucking hate humanity. Animals are awesome, they are so much better than us in so many aspects...

It’s so beautiful scene. But I hope this will make those animals think all humans are kind.
DOES DAMIAN HAVE INSTAGRAM?????
Seems unfair he didn't camp with his gorilla friend and family for a few days, heart-breaking, the guy looked so sad when Aspinal left so quickly.

Nope not crying at all 😢

I say....is better live them alone in their paradise and dont bother them as we dont like a stranger enter in our home without permition. But....
He got them killed 😭. They're in Heaven now, thankfully 🙏

i don't think so--- they will most likely become extinct before us unfortunately.
❤❤❤
This is a crazy thing to do...for Damien Aspinalls vanity putting the gorillas at risk of being poached! They'll be drawn to humans now...well done!
You don't have a clue at all, do you?
