Hi Lucy, I know you made this a while ago and since moved to Europe, but thanks for the vid! Yeesh, Singapore sure makes it difficult to apply for jobs from abroad, heh. I am currently studying and can only apply in a few years, but I'll be looking at UX designer positions when the time comes. Seems an E Pass is impossible for all but unicorn graduates who rack up phenomenal achievements in a short space of time or, the best bet, the limited quantity S Pass. The increasing minimum salary per annum is also disconcerting. It's probably not far-fetched to say it can easily reach SGD8000 for the E Pass, for instance, before 2030 even rolls around.
Hi Rudolf! Thank you so much for your kind comment!! 😊 Yes, the minimum required salary has been definitely increasing over the years. Regarding the minimum required salary, applicants' age also takes into account, which means the minimum salary goes up too as our age goes up too. But on the bright side, I believe that Singapore definitely plans to keep attracting global talents and UX designer is one of the jobs in demand in Singapore, so I believe you'll be able to get an E Pass when the time comes. Fingers crossed! Thanks again for your comment! :)
Hi Lucy! This is very informative! I’m planning to work in Singapore next year. However, due to the current pandemic situation, are SG borders still open to foreign workers? What are the prerequisites before applying a job? Do I have to be vaccinated, quarantine for 14 days etc?
Hi! I'm glad to hear that this video was informative! :) For your questions, I highly recommend checking out the MOM (Ministry of Manpower) website because I believe this is the website with the most updated information regarding work passes. And also when you go to the website, you can find the FAQ section which has a lot of detailed information. If you are planning to move to Singapore next year, you still have some time to prepare, so check out in-demand jobs in Singapore and make a list of companies and jobs you can apply for next year! Hope this helps and good luck!! 😊👍
