It was an Angel that appeared to John in revelation. Carefully read Revelation 1:1 « The revelation from Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John »

It is still the angel that is speaking on behalf of the Christ. Because the word of Christ are in that angel, so the angel is speaking as if he is the Christ.

There are many confirmed prophetic visions where angels have been white who appeared to people. You can look it up if you want so you can forget that every angel of God is black, that doesn’t make any sense btw. God is a God of variations.
