    Are you looking for team bonding games? Take a look at this one! In this exercise, the team members give each other feedback by handing out cards with characteristics. This makes it easier for the group to give and to receive feedback. Try it out! 🙏
    #TeamBuildingGames #Feedback #Communication
    Do you like this exercise? Let’s give these variations a try:
    1. Make sure the exercise is practiced playfully and everyone feels safe. You can do this by sometimes making a joke during the exercise. When the team feels comfortable and safe, they are more likely to see it as a game rather than something very serious. A lighthearted atmosphere will encourage more honesty from the people who give the feedback and more openness of the people receiving the feedback.
    2. You can also let everyone write just positive characteristics on the papers that they put in the hat. This way the team creates a positive atmosphere.
    Can’t get enough of this exercise? In my new book you will find more variations. Plus 100 other team building exercises, including:
    • Extensive explanations
    • Multiple variations
    • The outcome of each exercise
    • And a QR code linked to the corresponding video

      I was thinking the same thing. The people I work with would be highly offended by a negative comment - even if it's constructive. Family too - I'd leave that part out.

    • @Teamexercises
      @Teamexercises  4 роки тому +5

      @@cindys2995 Yes, you are right. Sometimes I think it is better to leave that part out. I was thinking you can also do a second round in which everyone gives each other a positive card of which they think the person who you give it to can use this characteristic a bit more. This way it is still feedback about something someone can improve upon, but in a more positive way. What do you think? Is that still too offensive?

    I think another way to do this to reduce friction is to ask each person to write 2 positive traits and 1 dislike, fold it into two and write the name of the person it's meant for. All papers should be collected and put in a box. Then each person should come out to pick the paper and give it to the person whose name is written on it. While the receiver should read out only the positive trait and keep the dislike to themselves as a reflection point.

    Hope to hear soon. Thank you.

    • @Teamexercises
      @Teamexercises  5 років тому +10

      Hi Eswary, Thank you for your comment and question. The strengths for this game is that each person gets insight of how the others see him. This way he can become aware of his own strengths and of things he can improve upon regarding to others The limitations of this game is that you can't do it with a very large group because than each person gets so many cards that he can't oversee it. So groups of maximum 10 persons is recommend. The recommendation for this game is that you always have to play it in a very safe environment. When the atmosphere is the group isn't that safe, please remove the 'negative characteristic' part, and only play with 'positive characteristics'. I hope you will enjoy this exercise!

      Odd Couples
      On any team, you'll have people with different personalities. But sometimes, these different personalities actually have things in common. Getting these team members to appreciate their differences and similarities can improve team bonding.
      Number of participants: 6-20 people
      Duration: 45-60 minutes
      Objective: Improve team bonding and communication skills
      How to play
      1. Create a list of odd pairs of objects that, for some reason, go well together. Like "Peanut butter & jelly", "chocolate & coffee", "salt & pepper", etc.
      2. Write down the names of objects from each pair on separate sheets of paper.
      3. Tape a sheet of paper to a participant's back. Do this for all participants. Try to tape opposing pairs on people with opposing personalities, though this is isn't necessary.
      4. Ask participants to mingle with the group. Their objective is to figure out what's written on their backs. The trick is: they can only ask yes/no questions ("Do I add flavor to food? Do I make the food spicy?").
      5. Once participants figure out what's written on their backs, they have to find the other half of their pair.
      6. After they've found their pairs, participants have to find three things they share in common with their opposing pair.
      This is whole exercise

      Thank you for your question! In that case they can just give that characteristic to someone else. It doesn't matter if it is the characteristic they choose. But if in any situation you don't want this to happen, of course you can always instruct the participants to put it back and draw another one until they draw a characteristic they didn't put in themselves.
