how does an impersonator like Rich Little accurately mimic celebrity voices if what he's hearing inside his head is different from what we're hearing?

Sometimes I hear my voice and feel like it sounds nasally. However, as someone who has to speak over a loud speaker and make announcements quite often, I have learned to embrace the sound of my voice. I still am not entirely love with it, but have definitely become more comfortable with it.

Good thing this video is up because as a voice actor on the autism spectrum I was wondering why do I sound different in any recording so now I know thank you.

I remember when i was between 10 and 12 and was given a casette recorder ,and my friend and i made a plan to use it to record oursrlves oretending to be journalists during a sleep over ..i already hated everything about myself ...and hearing my vioce on that recorder almost drove me towards my end ...i SOBBED and spiraled into deep depression .I wanted to be a singer so badly ,and once hearing my vioce i understand why everyone plugged their ears ..asked me to shut up or howled back at me like a dog ...🥺...to this day ..i cringe at my vioce in recordings ...i am 55 .And hateing my vioce ( along side depression ptsd adhd ocd and bipolar) has held me back dramatically...

It's because we've just realized that we're like, at least a tiny bit gay.
