Thank you for this video! I really enjoy the way you explain and demonstrate the tips and techniques in a very understandable way. I am a beginner and a lefty playing right handed, so my strumming/picking needs extra work. I look forward to watching your other videos.
Great tutorial Andy, I live in Ridgway PA without the e. I really enjoy your teaching style. Thank you Andy, I build and try to play ukulele's and 3 string guitars. If you are ever in the US in PA stop by and visit our Little town of Ridgway. Thanks' Andy.
Thanks. Yep exactly:) just had a quick listen and sounds like he’s counting 1..2&3&4& and squeezing a C chord on beat one. This can be done with an open C chord but easier to mute with an A-shaped barre-chord of C. He’s also adding a bass line by moving between a note of C (A-string) and G (E-string). Pretty complex in the end but it’s essentially the same idea of ‘squeeze, 2&3&4&’.
Hi great advice I’m an experienced enough fingerstyle player and I need to keep the tension in my arm in check all the time .. I recently started to play some blue grass and thought the strumming would be easy but it’s not 😀😀it’s hard to strum properly and do lead runs and keep the tension away it’s Gona take 6 months of hard practice to nail it properly .. cheers good lesson .. wat do u think of the lowden s I live just 10 miles from the factory I know a few of the luthiers in there one of them sets up my guitars he’s a English guy .. they are a beautiful instrument I played a walnut and cedar one a few weeks ago and it was just unbelievable. But out of my price range at the min .. I play matons at the moment.. anyway my man take care good advice I subscribed ..cheers from Ireland 🇮🇪.. Brian 🎸🎸
Thanks Brian. The Lowdens are great. I’ve never played a bad one. I also love Matons. I’m ten minutes away from the Atkin factory but can’t afford one yet. Good luck with the practise:)
Best strumming I've ever heard.
Many thanks:)
Legit great tutorial. I've seen a lot of mid tutorials on YT about strumming but this one are actual legit tips an actual teacher gives.
