I've been hearing back from people who've left Young Living who have corroborated this has been going on and it's considered a strategic way to grow your downline! I'm blown away.
I teach intellectually vulnerable teenagers, and many times I’ve had to intervene when a kiddo tells me they’ve been approached to sell knives as a way to contribute to their families. I’ve explained to I don’t know how many parents and social workers how the kid’s being exploited and this should absolutely not be allowed to happen. There is no depth these pyramid scheme cults will not go to to make a penny. They are all deplorable.
I wonder if they are also trying to capitalize on young people using social media more than their parents and providing access to a younger customer demographic.
Years ago I had a friend involved in both doterra and Young living. She had enough kids to at least make her own baseball team. She enrolled most of her kids in each business. For the life of me I couldn't understand how this made any sense.
"Yes, it's a little painful, but my stomach is full!" - says the snake as it eats it's tail, or it's minor's tail, whatever. Wow. This is wild, Julie o.O
I've been receiving comments that apparently this is also occurring in Herbalife and Amway too! I haven't looked into that yet...but have heard back from YL sources who have confirmed that signing up kids is automatic and widespread in YL.
Removed from the policy or not, they're still allowing minors into their pyramid scheme. I would love to see the contract the minors are given 🤦🏾♀️ Great work, Julie!
Thank you! I'm hearing back from more ex-Young Living participants that they'd recruited their kids, everyone does it, they're encouraged to. I'm astounded that it's been going on for so long. And if they suddenly stopped allowing kids into the scam, it would wreak havoc on so many people's downlines, it's nuts!
Also please remember that they now have your kid's Social Security number [in USA] in their database when you enroll them. It's selling their private data.
Imagine the following scenario, your kid coming back from school "hey mom, miss Jones from arts and crafts class helped us start a business today, we made Young living accounts" Or coming back from church choir, yoga classes, etc. I need a shower after finding out about this policy.
This desperation that drives MLM‘s to recruit children is not unique to young living. I know of at least one instance where and IGenius rep knowingly recruited, a 17-year-old. I reported this to compliance and the child’s account was terminated immediately.
Here's a little something you can post as a comment to anyone who promotes Young Living (along with Julie's YT video link): "Young Living allowing 16-17-year-olds to"enrol" as distributors is a shocking example of predatory and unethical behaviour. Targeting minors - who often lack the life experience, financial literacy, and legal protections needed to navigate business agreements - is exploitative and irresponsible. By enabling teens to join, the company preys on their vulnerability and ambition, often pressuring them into risky financial commitments or unrealistic expectations. This practice must not be allowed, as it opens the door to manipulation and potential harm to young individuals who aren't equipped to recognise these red flags. Anyone who can publicly support a company that deliberately involves minors in such high-risk ventures is both indefensible and deeply troubling."
Hi Julie, I appreciate you don't monetise your content on principal and a giant 🖕🏻 to the huns who claim anti-mlm content is a money grab... but you deserve payment for all of the content you put out, honestly. Are there ways we can support you/your content? 🤔
Thank you very much, I really appreciate the question! Leaving a comment here and there when you feel moved to, supporting someone who's left MLM with some kind words, and if anyone ever finds themselves in a situation where they can do the right thing....no matter how small it is, doing that is enough for me! 🙂
My original comment must have been too spicy for UA-cam. Commercial cults are so unethical. Talk about the disgusting nature of what this company is doing. Unfortunately participants are blinded to recruiting their children.
Teenagers are terrible with money and long term thinking, so they're the perfect targets for an MLM. Their parents should be steering them toward retail. At least they wouldn't get scammed. But it's Young Living being predatory again. Who knew,?
How can you sponsor your child and also not do anything that benefits you financially through the Compensation Plan isn't that like the whole purpose of sponsoring
To make it clear, the pressure in this model and the manipulation through parents is disgusting. And I have no love whatsoever for MLMs. But… I am used to divide minors into different categories, since in Germany it is anchored in laws that minors get more and more right to make decisions independent from their parents. Like amounts of money that they can spend without the consent of their parents. For example: Someone 13 and below are legally not able to make ANY payment. Not even buying a pack of bubble gum. Parents can go to the shop and get their money back. Older than that there is a general “allowance” rule where kids can spend money that are usually considered in the amount of an allowance. (the older, the larger the amount) With 16 it is the right to buy certain alcohol and consent to sex. I don’t have a problem with dividing ages like that, giving different ages different legal rights, but like I said it’s disgusting because of the MLM model.
I guess the idea is that if they ever get sued they can throw their distributors under the bus by claiming recruiting minors is not their policy... 🤦
Children being recruited is one of the worst things I've ever seen in any MLM tbh. The fact that they ever had that policy is wild.
I've been hearing back from people who've left Young Living who have corroborated this has been going on and it's considered a strategic way to grow your downline! I'm blown away.
Recruiting the children is evil in my opinion 😢
What you have to do is stack them. You enroll the spouse, they enroll your kid. Your kid enrolls the dog.
The dog enrolls two dead bugs: one "strong" dead bug leg and one "weak" one.
When I was 16, a friend tried to recruit me into cutco knives… thankfully my mom shut that down quickly

Yay, child labor!
How gross.
Also, the batch uploads are fabulous, Julie!
Thanks for noticing Aerodil! I'm on a bit of a tear lately lol!

can a parent involved in MLM’s be considered a responsible adult? just wondering
"Yes, it's a little painful, but my stomach is full!" - says the snake as it eats it's tail, or it's minor's tail, whatever.
Wow. This is wild, Julie o.O
🤣🎯
A "minor brand partner" ?! Wowwwww I had no idea they were doing this!
I've been receiving comments that apparently this is also occurring in Herbalife and Amway too! I haven't looked into that yet...but have heard back from YL sources who have confirmed that signing up kids is automatic and widespread in YL.
Origami Owl used to have their Owlette Progam. I don't know if it still exists.@JulieAndersonvideos
"It's not in the policy and procedures" Yeah but it's still advocated for within their FAQ on their own site so they should still be held liable.
Removed from the policy or not, they're still allowing minors into their pyramid scheme. I would love to see the contract the minors are given 🤦🏾♀️ Great work, Julie!

You gotta be kidding me! This despicable! It can’t be legal
18:34 so basically they're recruiting kids and not documenting that they are.
As I said: YAY, CHILD LABOR!
How absolutely evil, in my opinion.
24:53 wow 🤯 but not surprised. Really really gross

You got a win! I'm wondering how widespread this practice of recruiting kids is...
This makes me so angry. Between 2000 and 2010 children as young as 13 were in Avon and Oriflame in my country.
This is a good way to get some credit card fraud going. Bc its gotta be a separate payment account....from the parents....who set it up....
“They said it with their whole chest” 😂
Minors are generally not able to sign binding contracts.

Looks like an option to ghost accounts that is sanctioned by the company.
My original comment must have been too spicy for UA-cam.

Dang it, I need to get on my computer and approve comments, I LOVE spicy comments lol!
I remember having a classmate that sold avon back in highschool :/

Just when I thought MLM could not sink any lower. 🙃
:( this is just awful, like wtf?
I wonder if by removing the policy they can now recruit children of all ages 🤔
I wonder...it just seems...so illegal hahaha or it should be. Omg haha
Kids suing parents, in 5… 4… 3…
How can you sponsor your child and also not do anything that benefits you financially through the Compensation Plan isn't that like the whole purpose of sponsoring
Excellent point 👏

These days, every time I watch content about Young Living, it's clear they are getting worse every day. My god what's next?
I've got another video coming out about a YL participant not believing Rabies is a virus...it gets worse 😔
@JulieAndersonvideos holy moly...
