Dawg this is like a vice documentary quality but made by someone actually in the culture. This is what the scene needed
Nobody will understand the feeling about seeing the obey slaps, stencils and Wheatpastes all over every city you went to but never knowing wtf it was… crazy shit will never be the same
there are still some in my neighborhood.. its a rare find though and only in areas that are very noticeable like highways and roads
@@DocuShorts669 but I’m saying now everyone knows what it is… when I was 10 years old the majority of people in nyc had no clue why all those Wheatpastes were around and who it represented… it was just cool
@@PeepGamePopoff still goes on today... nothing's changed. god I despise when people are like "my generation was cooler and better" or "back in my days" your acting like an old fart. stop pretending your generation was so different
Damn, everytime I watch stuff like this it just makes me wanna get up and paint the whole town in sticks and doodles, but I'm too chicken to go out at night or do it out in the open. But it does inspire even the smallest of artists still
Ive never got cuaght so u dont gotta be scared just do wat u gotta do and go
i would say do it in the daytime just be sneaky, like maybe try and do a little sleight of hand yk like maybe quickly put a sticker up on a wall while walking in a crowd idk
the music you put to this at the beginning is immaculate. More fitting than in the doc.
I love this documentary, I am a big fan of skateboarding and graffiti stickers too. I’m actually doing pretty good at my ollies right now.
I was born in DC in 1971 & grew up in the DMV & around 82-83 when hip hop started to creep out of NYC I fell in love with graffiti & one of the main things I love about it to this day is it’s total lack of pretension ….oh yeah & the anonymity
amazing work!! this is incredible!!! keep it up!!!!🔥❤🍻 i have watched stick to it sooooo many times hahaha. this is so good man i love it
Props to youfo, this looks like a very professional interview, good job on that
the guy that makes those cubes does a lot of stencil work where i live hes a cool guy
My buddy worked for Birdhouse back than . He worked art dept . He would give me clear wrapped stickers . Hook-ups. Now collectors .
Endless supplies stickers !!!
Something 🏴☠️ Even if it’s random 🎃
I do stickers its an addiction im only 14 i started when i was like 12 it really means a lot to me to watch this video
Great documentary!
I have two questions:
1. How artists afford to make such a large quantity of stickers? Is there a cheaper way to produce it?
2. Do you happen to know any online platforms for stickers exchange?
fuck yeah !! much love ❤️
thank you!!
Also bro if you have instagram can you please go ahead and follow me on there if you haven’t already! - @youfosignhere
EVERYTHING I’m into and everything I became I attribute to skateboarding. DMYZ WUZ HERE ✌️
@@youfosignhere everything, because I started skateboarding in 86 that led me to the best of friends, times, music, graffiti, other art and everything in between. It all goes back to my first board. I’m 46 next month and I will always check it on certain things to see how or what it going on. Stay cool
My buddy worked for Birdhouse . He worked in graphic department. He would bring home clear wrapped 50 sticker in packet. Hook up and Birdhouse stickers for free .
does anyone have the instagram or other information about the sticker artist "SONIC" at 0:18?
Oosh bro this is buzzy as. I remember wen i was like 14 going to bmx shops an begging for stickers hahahaha now iv been working at a bikeshop for ages (the main one that i use to hustle stickers from as a kid) an i always try to hook up the young skatepark ratts that come in lurking for stickers. Every now n then if they look rowdy enough/ capable il say chuk it up somewhere dodgey an il give you more 😂
0:36 what’s the name of the artist in the black outline and white fill in I always see their stuff in NY
2:42 how did that one get removed? But the DAYZ and setup are still there. That I’ll never understand lol
just received 4k in tax refund gonna start up my own sticker/shirt business
Great documentary but I dont know why I get mad by this but street art is doing legals with permission but illegals are graffiti
