This thing popped up on my radar becasue I'm realising something; all the "clever" stuff is great, but if your main focus is writing music, it kinda gets in the way. Recently I've been going back to BIAS FX instead of my Helix LT because I can get the tone I want SO much faster. This Mooer thing is so well thought through. This and their Ocean Machine (and no, I don't get paid to say this sh*t) might be the cheapest songwriting setup that works. Thanks for the demo Pete. Excellent as always.

I REALLY loved the clean tappy bit It sounds really versatile, although it can sound a little (LITTLE) scratchy at times. Besides that, incredibly solid! (but what do I know, I barely have 2 years on guitar)
Maybe a few more years and you won’t find the necessity to pick out his seldom “scratchy” playing and just appreciate the thought, effort and overall quality of the video.
Mine did not sound good.. Maybe because of my speakers. I have a Peavey 6505 power amp with a v30 2x12 cab.. It was much too fizzy and not enjoyable.. With headphones it was really good though.. Nice video and awesome sound 👌
I’ve never been a fan of V30 speakers unless you’re playing a super dark amp (such as an Orange Dual Dark) through them. Try the K-100s, H-75s, or T-75s. All good speakers.
boyndark the reason is so you don't need to bring a big amp to the gig you can go straight guitar then preamp then into front of house , so your tone is consistent

I forget exactly but I thought i heard him say either .074 or .080 at one time. He almost always plays in f# standard on his 8. So the gauges would be, 6 string standard set 9-46, then 56 then 74. Or standard 6 string set 9-46, then 64, then 80. Nothing crazy. 74 to 80 can go a long way on 27 inch scale or longer. Easily down to d or c on the low string. His is 30 inch scale.
