    Thank you for this, I really appreciate your videos. Could you demonstrate thread painting one day. Sounds intriguing.😊

      You might have to wait awhile for that video as I don't do thread painting but there are many quilters who do and if you search online, I'm sure you'll be able to find some good videos on it.

    I really appreciate your videos, they are very well done and you’re easy to understand and follow. Something I would love to see you cover is bobbin work, and Sewing with knit fabrics. I just bought my machine and I am an exclusive garment maker, heavy to knit fabrics. BTW, I just wanted to let you know I love the gray coming out in your hair, especially with the red and black, looking sharp!

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  3 роки тому

      Thanks, Chris! I'm not a garment sewist at all, strictly quilts (I've never made a quilt that didn't fit ;)) so I don't sew with knit fabrics. I haven't done bobbin work ... yet.

    I appreciate learning how to attach the echo foot from this tutorial video. It is nowhere to be found in the book that comes with the machine, nor could I find it on the Janome website. I would appreciate a tutorial that demonstrates using the echo foot, and any helpful tips if you could. Thank you so very much.

    I've had the M7 about two weeks, so I am really enjoying your tutorials. Is the a way to change the lock stitch from 5 lock stitches to 3 lock stitches? I'm just now start to go through the workbook, I'll find it eventually if the machine offers it.

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  Рік тому

      Not that I'm aware of. I have checked the manual and haven't seen anything that says you can change the number of locking stitches.

    First, thank you so much for all of the wonderful tutorials you have done. Really appreciate you!! I do have a question please. When I use the blue dot bobbin holder it really rattles while I’m quilting. Is that normal?

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  4 місяці тому

      No, it shouldn't rattle. I would check to ensure that it is installed correctly and lying flat along the top. Also, check to ensure that you have the correct blue dot bobbin for your machine as there are different ones for different models. Hopefully this will help resolve the rattle.

    Thanks Kim great info as usual. Do you know of any way to turn off the one stitch feature permanently. I thread paint and it drives me nuts but can't find any info as to turning it off. I know you can hit the icon at the top of the screen but as soon as i cut my threads it turns back on! Im probably missing something simple but would appreciare any help you can give.

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  Рік тому

      Actually I haven't found that magic button myself and I agree that it can be quite annoying. I think it has something to do with how the machine cycles through the stitch formation.

    I want to learn how to thread paint / sketch ... what settings / feet would you recommend for the thread painting ... usually I just have a sheet of stabilizer on my piece to start ... I often add batting and backing later when I add the FMQing to the piece

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  2 роки тому

      The QV foot (round plastic with red lines on it) is ideal for thread painting (which is a technique that I haven't really explored much). You're actually free motion quilting when doing thread painting so you might also want to try one of the other feet included with this machine for free motion quilting to see which works best for you. I do suggest the closed toe feet rather than the open toe ones.

    I know this is an old video but I hope you will answer this comment. I have had my M7 for quite awhile and it did not come with a blue dot bobbin case. One of the reasons I purchased the machine was to do some ruler work. I had nothing but thread breakage when trying to do it. Is this blue dot bobbin case really necessary?

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  22 дні тому

      The blue dot bobbin case will help with the thread tension. If you are finding that you are having thread breakage, it may be that your free motion quilting foot is set too high so you could lower it a bit and see if that works. Check out my video on that at ua-cam.com/video/qBDV3p5eV3Q/v-deo.htmlsi=so90Nl7eru1lc1HY

    Help! I bought the blue dot bobbin holder and can’t get it to work properly. I have the M7. Threads just tangle and makes a big nest. Any idea what I’m doing wrong? Packaging does not say it’s compatible with M7 but it’s the only blue dot Janine sells.

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  3 роки тому +1

      The blue dot bobbin case for the Janome M7 is different than the others and will only work with that machine. It sounds like you are using a bobbin holder case that isn't made specifically for this model. Check with your local Janome dealer to be sure that you have the correct one for the M7 - it came out in Canada in the last year.

    Do the aqufeed feet for the 8900 fit the M7

    • @Chatterboxquilts

      I believe that they do but I would check with your local Janome retailer (I"m not a Janome retailer) to be sure.

    Which foot for ruler work please?

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  Рік тому

      Ruler work is really free motion quilting with rulers (templates) so the set up is the same as for free motion quilting. I l use the straight stitch needle plate and the QR (ruler) foot that comes with this machine.
