Congratulations Uptick! I’ve been on a UK boutique list for 2 years. However I visited the Omega boutique in Zurich last week and was told that allocation is being managed by Bienne and a ‘very good’ purchase history is necessary. Grey market for me unfortunately. 😢
I had been on the waiting list for this one for more than a year at the OB in London when I got the call for a Snoopy in October last year which I passed on (I wanted the 321). Two weeks later I got the call for a 321, went in and bought it. They said it was the first one they had received at this boutique last year. Guys you have to see this one in person to fully appreciate the craftsmanship here for case, bracelet and movement of course. A truly magnificent watch, yet still understated, one that doesn’t scream. And the first Speedmaster model that received the NASA certification. It sits well next to my FOIS which remains my everyday Speedy. Congratulations, Uptick!
True luxury is when something is hand assembled and not mass produced by robots. Combine that with history and adventure and you have a real winner. It is the ultimate and first g shock!
Price no object I prefer to look at the 321 than a cartoon character. I already have the James Bond 60th so that's enough animation and blue for me. From on a pure horological aspect, nobody could dispute which caliber is the purebred.
@@UptickWatchReviews Thanks. Very tempted with the James Bond 60th as well to top and tail my first Omega which was the original Bond version (quartz) that I bought in 95.
Beautiful Ed White and great production value on this video. As an owner of a dozen Speedys I agree that this one hits different and feel that the price delta between this and a regular cal 1861 is worth the stretch. Hoping to score one of these in 2-3 years after the hype dies down a bit. Subscribed.
Peak Omega. I own the 3861 and though I dislike modern Omegas due to their garish looks and dingy sounding marketing words as long as they don f up and mess with the Speedmaster, they are still worth keeping around.
Even more than the 321 movement, I appreciate the cleaner bracelet of this watch compared to the standard Speedmaster. But the movement - and with that display case back - is beautiful too. Would love one in gold.
I believe that today the astronauts are going in space with an X33 model that house a quartz movement. I like also the fact that they named it Ed White, he is the first American doing an EVA but he also lost his life in the Apollo 1 fire (with Gus Grissom and Robert Chaffee) So it is a nice homage to a true hero.
Indeed the way they perished was truly horrible and as much as the watch celebrates the accomplishments, it also reminds us to be humble as others gave their lives for the greater good.
Congratulations on the purchase! Will you be wearing the same way you'd wear a normal speedy pro? Do you think you will be more delicate considering it's rarity? Also what is your opinion about regarding the ceramic bezel? Looks very nice.
Why wouldn’t you wear it everyday? This is exactly the type of robust luxury watch that can be worn in all occasions. If it was good for Ed White and the missions, it will handle everyday knocks. And if you happen to damage it, the best dealer network (Omega) will be able to repair it for you and get it back in new condition. Even if it means replacing with a brand new case in some point in the future. The most practical mechanical watch you can have in your collection imho.
Congrats on the new watch. But confusing as it has many differences from the current listing on the Omega site (at least from the US) - is this brand new and they haven’t updated the pictures on their site? An LE? Bracelet is different; engraving around the exo caseback are different. And still listed as 42mm. Is there taper to the bracelet? How much?
I totally agree with the other comments that this watch is way overpriced. There are so many Moonwatch Speedmasters out there it has become almost a cliché to own one. I have the latest sapphire sandwich with the 3861 and I don't wear it often in rotation.
Maybe you don't like it I can understand that since that is subjective. I can even understand not wanting this one if you have the 3861 since they are similar and technically the 3861 is better. But that doesn't mean it is not worth it's price. I own both the 3861 and the 321. I enjoy both alot although I have even more speedmasters than just those 2. If you put them next to each other you will see they are very different watches. The price difference is not justified just by that of course. But it is justified by the fact that these are completely hand made in a separate factory in a way only done by the highest end brands and that they had to recreate one of the most famous movements. All this also means they are not as available since they can only make about 1000 of these movements a year. And that creates a value way above the price of a standard speedmaster. You could even argue that it is even not that expensive when compared to some other watches like for example a Daytona. And I hope they bring out even more speedmasters as to me it is maybe even the greatest watch of them all. But that is also subjective....
@@andresfg6788 I must admit I'm a bit surprised by this as why would you put yourself on the waiting list for this watch and buy it months/years later if you don't value what makes it special? You could have gone home with the standard speedmaster pro the day you put yourself on the waiting list for this one.And that is technically the better watch also. So why didn't you? You must have found something special about it or you would have never done that?
@@philipmoriau599 I didn't wait. I was offered one by my Omega AD in 2021. Well, I wanted to experience it and judge it by wearing it and inspecting it in detail. But realized it is a cash grab with a massive margin, even for luxury watches standard. Watch was sold over msrp so no risk on my money. So on the contrary, if I was intrigued.. why not try? Doesn't mean I had to like it. No need to be surprised, just respect there's people that don't feel the same as you do. Preferences and value are extremely subjective.
@@philipmoriau599, congratulations ! How is the accuracy of the 321 compared to the 3861 ? If I am right, Omega adjusts the 321 acc. to chronometer specifications … but you never know. Are there any experiences ?
Just sharing my 321 experience. The bracelet have some ‘oxidation’. Sent back to service centre and they told me it is a ‘dirt’. I felt slightly insulted with the reply from the service centre..Sold it and that was my last piece with O… the watch was 1 month old btw.. on the positive side, the watch fit nicely on any wrist size imo. Congrats but do keep an eye on the bracelet especially the clasp
Oxidation? It is the same material used in other models. If it was a problem, we would have heard zillions of these complaints by now. If it is oxidation, the watch may have. Been in contact with certain chemical causing this, but still very unlikely
@@UptickWatchReviewsthat is great level of accuracy. People complain about the price? Well if you buy an iconic well finished luxury product that has endured the time, you have to be willing to shell out extra….the delta between pro and this model is justifiable if you see it first hand.
It left me cold. I couldn't see any justification of it being priced at twice a new speedy, so had to pass it on. The movement is good looking but the rest of the watch worth 15K? Not at all.
Considering that a Rolex Daytona has a similar retail price, i think the Ed White is fairly priced. Another point is that the Ed White seems to receive special or at least more attention in the watch making process compared to the standard watch. If anything, the price on the standard speedy is too low. If Omega were to reduce and control production similar to Rolex, they could charge more for the standard speedy.
@@jackprick9797 that's the thing.. they priced it there because of following the pricing the Daytona. Not because the watch objectively is worth that. I mean, and all that BS about exclusivity is nonsense, not true.

321 very nice
Congratulations Uptick 🥂 I have been offered the opportunity of the 321 or the Snoopy, which would you go for? Thanks

Crazy watch! St Graal for me in a collection! The first one who use the new 321 caliber re-edited on a steel version..
Just love it❤
Gosh that’s shiny and what a back!
It wouldn't kill them to give this a little bit more water resistance. 50m is shite. Even Longines can get 100m in their Spirit Chronograph.
Not sure I like the ceramic bezel, it looks like one of those AliExpress speedy homages
Beautiful watch. Love that ceramic bezel! Congratulations!
Congrats! It is magnificent. Wear it in good health.
Until my wife sees the credit card statement I'll be in great health...

Very nice. Waves my 321 145.012-67, just fully serviced. On mighty 1450 bracelet.
will this watch help a crytocurrency portfolio go to the moon? asking for a friend...
Did the lume change? Your lume shot at 4:25 looks blue. The blue lume would be cool. Great watch and review!
The smaller case makes the "manhood" at 12 look all the more impressive.
You are lucky with the back case alignment it seems, others are aligned differently.
Congratulations! Crazy piece!
Congrats for the new baby !!!! That´s a hell of a watch !!!!
How many Omega watches do you need to buy to get this?
