“The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.” ― H.P. Lovecraft
matt didn't get the demo.. he got their actual cd which is what i just uploaded. yes, its not identical, but same cords and theme.. just curious if it influenced this song.. ya know
I'll take a listen to the song you're mentioning, but first I'd like to say: the first thing this song made me think of was One Last Song by Dan Andriano w/ Stephen Egerton. I was almost expecting to hear Dan singing this one just based on the title
I understand dude. and I agree it is similar. but the fact remains that he has been an accomplished song writer for 15 years or so and I dont see him ripping a song off of some poor band that opened for him a couple of years ago. If I am wrong then I am wrong, but I have too much respect for Matt to think he would do that.
can someone post the tabs to this song? or find a page that already has a tab? I haven't seen any youtube cover either and I can't learn by ear yet. Thanks, it'd be much appreciated
then maybe this might answer your question. check out the video on youtube "suburban lawns janitor" . Matt Skiba tweeted this video last summer and said it was his inspiration for Lead Poisoning. that song is about as similar to lead poisoning as The Last Dance is to One Last Dance. it's quite possible that he did take inspiration from that song
sorry, I see the the similarity, but just because some shit nobody band has similar chords doesnt mean he stole it. by the way, the lyrics and chorus are totally different.
wow.. word on the street is there is a conspiracy behind this song.. a young aspiring band of nobodies wrote a song called the last dance and gave skiba the cd with it on there.. this song is musically identical... here's proof of a demo.. youtube thebarebones666 and last dance..
melody of the verse sounds like "fine without you." not making a stylistic analysis on the band's ability to create new music, just pointing out objective musical information, so please don't get mad at me.
who is to say he even listened to the demo? I have a problem because face it, this shitty band is trying one last ditch effort to "make it" by claiming matt and co. used their song. let's say matt did listen to it. 3-4 years ago. subconsciously if he used similar chords it doesnt matter. way better song, way better lyrics, way better singing voice. id be mad too if I was from Cleveland and was a terrible band.
Just wanna say, you guys still kill it in a style I thought people couldn't rock anymore.
Absolute badass music, and of course Matt and Derek’s vocals!!!
the chorus is so beautiful.
CHORUS ❤❤❤
Unfortunately the last dance won't come. But still a perfect song that won't go away.💜🚬
That bass in the bridge!
Best Trio Album
Sounds like badass new alk3...looks like i need a bottle to go with it too!

Fine Without You.
One of my definite favorite tracks of theirs.
great song :)
this is good speculation, i'll have to check out the video
If this song has ripped anyone off, it's the Trio's own 'Fine Without You' .. The verse is identical.
I agree so much with you
dope
Didn't say he DID rip it off. I just said it was similar.
why even point it out then? just curious
Dan's bass solo
💜
Lmao I didn't say he did. I love AK3 always have. I just thought I'd share the video.

youtube thebarebones666 and last dance..
i will post proof in a few minutes. it is just very funny how it turned out.
My ex sent me this when we split. It was his way of apologizing. I wish i would’ve given one more try…
Well this song sounds like their other song called "Fine Without You" so..
even if this is true (highly unlikely), I prefer the Trio version, lol
I doubt he knows what that means.
No need to say sorry. I should have thought more on how to word it. I normally just type how I would say it and I tend to swear a lot.
well if he didn't rip it off it is very fucking similar watch?v=lrOpmV1TQIs
like si veniste por pepe
jajaja ya escuché todo su repertorio!
claro estan buenas las rolas
que pepe??

I got ya dude. but just because this terrible band gave a demo to matt years ago doesnt mean he maliciously took it and recorded it as his own.
