Another Maine resident that probably got recommended this video thanks to location services - lot of fond memories as a kid of both this location and Joker's. Wish I remembered more specifics but as a kid I waa just happy to be there.
I live in the area and I went here several times as a kid. Eventually my mom stopped taking us because we got sick literally every time we went, which makes sense because my most vivid memory of this place was watching some kid throw up in the ball pit. I definitely enjoyed going despite all that, but after we visited the Joker's on the other side of town I stopped missing CEC. The Joker's was massive comparatively, and the jungle gym there is something I still wish I could run around in as a grown man. It's sad to see that they're both gone now, feels like the end of an era.
@@Zoraproxi It was the safest state. You're not allowed to talk about why it isn't anymore without being cancelled. I live in Lewiston, and it's been on a big downward spiral since 2016.
Even though it was a while ago, thank you for sharing your love with Lewiston that’s really sweet :) also I lived pretty close to that chucky cheese, went to a couple bday parties there and it always gave me super creepy vibes. I played fnaf so I always stayed as far away from chucky as physically possible 😅
Damn, doesn't surprise me that there weren't many good photos of it, given the time and most certainly the location, but I will admit it saddens me that all I really have to remember it is the memories there. I've probably gone there at least a dozen times when I was a kid, still have some tokens lying around. I can confirm a couple things if my memory serves me correctly. They did infact have the Buzzy Buzzy Bee game since you could always hear it going around the arcade area, and there were no showroom walls or artifact shelves prior to 2011. Oh, and I think there was another larger Joker's somewhere in Maine at one point, because my sister worked there shortly.
I remember going to that location where it was right near the mall when I was little. Even as a kid, it was a nightmare. We have tons of pictures somewhere of the inside, but it was just so dark. I remember the taste of the pizza (cardboard) and climbing up the skiball ramp to dunk in the balls manually. Honestly I think my family only went once or twice since it was pretty expensive. I remembered Joker's a lot more because of the terrifying old man animatronic they had for their western shoot-out game. Though sometimes I still look at that building and think fondly of congealed cheese and getting gum in my hair in the ball pit. I also wanted to say thank you for the beginning of the video
I still have my old photo cards from that exact CEC Photo Booth! Good times. My father would take me there and we’d play skiball and that one racing game where you crash into the enemy to arrest them. Soooo many good memories. You should do one on Jokers!!
Hah, I remember this place. Well, kinda. Only ever went there once, and only remember one thing from it. When I was little and went there for my birthday, I climbed up on the stage with one of the animatronics and had my parents and probably others yelling at me to get down. If that ain’t straight outta Five Nights at Freddy’s, I don’t know WHAT is!
I don't know why this was in my recommendations but hey I have a very fond memory of this place. Hell, I was the last birthday party there when I was younger on December 2nd, the staff were somber, and it was genuinely the best franchise birthday party I could ever ask for. I think I still have a bunch of nicer photos of the whole place too.
This video was such a nostalgia trip. I only remember going there once, but I can confirm there was a Buzzy Buzzy Bee there (or something like it)! It was right between the Skytubes, the prize counter, and the dining area.
Ive lived in southern Maine for my entire life (24 years). I remember going to this location multiple times before it closed. But i went to Joker's way more than CEC until both closed shop.
I went into it one once for a birthday party. my only memory is it being ominously empty. I think the animatronic was our of order. I also do feel like they had the bee game, unless Joker's had something similar, as I went there more. The bees felt like a core memory unlocked though.
Oh my! Yes, I too am living in Maine. I’ve been here for my whole life, mind you. Greetings from Portland! Childhood memories… I really do miss this place. I was thinking about it when a friend brought it up recently and recalling memories! Thanks for sharing your video.

Wow, this just unlocked some memories of mine. I actually remember going here as a kid. I remember taking pictures in the booth, along with other things. The animatronics did creep me out though. Not sure why, but there was just that uncanny valley feeling to them that made me feel uneasy.
I'm watching this right from my house in South Portland! lol Nice to see all you locals here, too. Fun fact, a friend of mine actually played Chucky...Chuck E, however he wants me to spell it, back in 03/04. Good times :)
Holy shit I remember this place! I got pushed off the stage by the animatronic at my brother's birthday party! They absolutely had the bee game by the way.
I really do live under a rock, I can't believe it took this video to inform me that Joker's shut down during the Covid-ening. I remember recess arguments over which place was better. I also find it a crazy coincidence that the equipment went to West Palm Beach, considering that's around where my family lived before we moved up north, and is likely the location where my family took their CEC pictures.
I'm looking forward to the next video! I've talked about the murders and that location, as well as watched the documentary that talked about what happened and even had an interview with the killer, victims' families, and it's a tough one to watch, but also gives alot of insight on what happened. There's also an episode of the podcast called Back From Broken where the gf of the killer was interviewed as well as more details were shared. I just hope that whoever watches it respects all who were involved (except the killer) and no comparisons to a certain game franchise is made
Went to this location in 2011! I lived 2 hours away in central Maine but I begged my parents to take me there for my 11th birthday. I broke my arm the month before so the pictures feature me in an American flag arm cast. Good times.

I only went there a couple of times when I was little and I hardly remember it. All I remember is playing in the sky tubes (or whatever theyre called). I remember my parents complaining about how expensive it was lol. And I remember asking my mom if we could get pizza, and she said no. I didn't recognize any of the picture in the video, except the sky tubes photo and the photo of the outside of the building. I wish I could remember more
