Exploring "Why”: Digital Storytelling as a Health Care Quality Improvement Tool

In many health care quality improvement initiatives, effectively communicating why an initiative is important to the lives of patients and families is as important as explaining what should be improved and how these improvements should be made. Digital Stories are short, first-person “mini-movies” created by patients, family members, and health care providers using their own photos, videos, and voice. These stories can be a compelling way to communicate the “why” of health care QI initiatives with the public, frontline health care workers, administrators, funding organizations, and other health care stakeholders.
