Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for this. I didn't think I would be able to get realistic looking eyes without an expensive mould and preprinted eyes. This is amazing 😍
Question, can you store them after you make a lot of them , how long do they keep, or can you just make a set and put the rest in the fridge and then reheat and use as needed? Thank you Mrs. Natalie! YOUR AWESOME!!!!❤️🎂❤️🎂❤️🎂❤️🎊🎊🎊🎊🎉🎉🎉
Great question! I typically pop out all of the unused gelatin from the molds, place them back in the bowl with the gelatin I didn’t use, cover it in plastic wrap, and keep it at room temp for up to a week or so. You can reheat the gelatin by popping it in the microwave for about ten seconds and pour it in the molds again. The only thing I noticed is after time the gelatin will start to yellow a bit. Nothing too dramatic, but if you’re going for a super clear gelatin, using it in the first couple days is ideal 👍
I made the eyes for the baby yoda cake and they came out great. I had one problem. I put the eyes into my yoda head made with modeling chocolate the day before I needed the cake. By the next day when the party was happening the eyes had started to melt or something. It looked like yoda was very sad and starting to cry. The whole thing had been stored overnight in the refrigerator so I don't know why this happened. Any suggestions for next time?
When a chilled cake hits warm air, condensation will cause it to perspire which can lead to some runny colors. As long as there aren't any areas of the cake exposed to air, your cake should be ok stored at room temperature for 24-48 hrs without drying out. Hope this helps! 💕
Please help... I’m having trouble with the gelatine eyes “melting” once they have contact with the modeling chocolate or fondant. How do I stop this. Thank you!
Hi Natalie. I have been watching your you tubes and was wondering. What gelatine you use for a clear eyeball?? With the gelatine I use it is yellowish and slightly cloudy when dry.
Hello Natalie please could you tell me what the size of those gelatine moulds are please that you used on the Grogu cake? Also how many portions would that Grogu cake make? Thank you so much! I have to make this cake on the 2nd March
Hi! I made the coolest owl cake using these eyes but my painted sugar sheet started to melt after a while if being in contact with the jello. Is there any way to prevent this? Thank you for the great tutorial!
Fantastic tutorial, can’t wait to try it out. Where would I get citric acid? In the uk it used to be sold in pharmacies but it was misused by addicts (I used to work as a pharmacy technician) so I’m not sure where to get it now?
He thank you so much for sharing this. I have a question. Dose the gelatine not react with the fondant. I’ve had trouble in the past when making gelatine fabric and it then started melted the fondant 🤔 has this ever happened to you?
That’s interesting. I always use modeling chocolate rather than fondant so I haven’t had that happen. I’ll have to experiment with it more now to find out
I love this so much. I tried it though, and my gelatin smelled FOUL. Like a dead animal caucus mixed with poop. It was awful. I had just purchased the gelatin too! Are certain brands better? also, is there a trick to getting the food color marker to write better? It dries up so quick it seems and stops writing.
Thanks!
My gelatin is busy blooming right now, so trying this, thanks Natalie your work is amazing and the fact that you share this so freely is awesome!!

Beautiful! Just found your channel, liked and subscribed. where can I find this mold? want to make these eyes, same size. Thanks for sharing!
What size mold for the yoda eyes, please?
Do you use this same recipe for the edible plastic on your steak cake?
Natalie, we don't have a microwave oven. How would we accomplish the same step with lower tech methods? Double boiler, or what?
Hi! what is the replacement of citric acid can i replace a lemon or lime juice and how many grams? or tbsp.thanks! in advance
You're amazing!! What size sphere mold are you using for the eyes?
What sorcery it this ma lady!!! Yeeee be a witch!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️

try in stores where canning supplies are sold! not sure about the uk but ball brand jars has a citric acid that is in a green container
Awesome! Would this be good for gelatine bubbles?
I haven’t tried it, but I think it would likely stay too soft to hold the bubble shape. I’ll have to give it a try, though!
Is there a substitute for citric acid? Maybe lime juice or a pinch of salt?
Wow
cool!! is that eye color paper also can eat?
Yes, it is wafer paper and it's 100% edible! It's vanilla-flavored, but the taste is very mild
Sideserf Cake Studio Wow amazing! You are so professional.
Is the gelatin flavoured? Cause that would taste gross if not. Love your cakes! 😁

Thank you for a great tutorial! Just curious - I have friends with a corn allergy. Is there something you could use in place of corn syrup?
Kelli Basher glucose syrup! I think it’s made from potato starch instead of corn starch
I have teied this but the edible image just melted and the jello won’t stay still, it looks nice just for a few min for pictures
Is the citric acid strictly necessary? I can't find it!
wow
Where can i find d citric acid?
I followed exactly next morning the gelatin melted down my cake 🤨
How to make corn syrup
Hi Ma'am,
It's great.
But need 1 help.
What you use background of eyes??
Megha Padval wafer paper, rice paper. Is what I use.
I use powder food color painted onto wafer paper or edible sugar sheets. Both are sold online or at cake specialty stores 😁
