    #organizewithme #cleanwithme #roomtransformation #playroomorganization #roommakeover #homeorganization
Hi friends! Today we are going to clean, declutter, and organize the playroom! This has been on my to-do list for awhile now and I'm glad it is now a functional, organized room in our home. Having a place for all of Brooks' toys and activities is SO nice and refreshing! I love that he knows where everything goes as well and can help clean up. I hope this video brings you tons of cleaning motivation and inspires you to declutter an area in your home. If it does, make sure to tag me over on IG @kailyn_cash! Thanks for watching and don't forget to SUBSCRIBE. xo,K

Brooks playroom is so nice. It will make it a lot easier for him to play and clean up too. Your teaching him great tips. He's such a cute little boy. He's definitely your hubby's twin. Love how you organized it.

I think you did a great job! Rooms looks wonderful and we must think alike. About a month ago I redid our playroom and bought similar shelving and containers for our shelves too! I would put his books on the bottom shelf to encourage reading and so that he has access to the books on his own. Books are heavier than one would think and they should go on the bottom so that the shelf is not top-heavy. ❤️ Brooks is a blessed little boy with a wonderful, loving mommy!

I hate toys lol! I have all my boys toys organized in tubs by type and LOCKED IN THE CLOSET! I used to leave them all out but it was just too much. They would get them ALL out, throw them all everywhere, it was too overwhelming for them to clean. This has made such a difference in my sanity! When they want to play they can each pick a tub and when they are done they clean it right up without me even asking! Then it goes up and they can have something else if they want....

I did the same for my 3 boys. They were crammed in 1 small room till they were teenagers because of our house situation so I had to get very creative to control the chaos.

It looks gorgeous! Just one thing though....while the books look "visually appealing" they are now so high up on the shelf that he can't reach them at all. Perhaps on the bottom shelves would be a better option.

I agree, plus heavier items should go on the bottom so that the bookshelf is not top-heavy. I have learned the hard way and books are a lot heavier than one would think.

As an elementary school teacher, it really saddened me that the books were out of reach. My daughter had books strung all over her room when she was younger.

    • @marysweet5289

I agree & she might need to screw the shelves to the wall so if he tries to reach something it won’t fall in him. If he goes to try to reach for a book or something he might try to stand on a shelf & then pull the shelf over on him. It’s just dangerous.

It seems that the books at the top are for esthetic purposes. In my play room I have nicer books the I don't want the kids to read without me at the top (they like to write and rip pages and books can be expensive). The board books and older books that they read often are stored on the bottom. She may have a similar system that was not shown in this video.

Came across your video and I think it's great for organizing a toy space. I would like to encourage you to show your viewers the very needed security straps that should hold the tall book shelf you moved to the corner. So many children have been seriously hurt and died from bookshelfs and dressers falling over onto them. We all LOVE our children, and these security straps really do work if attached properly.❤

My daughter is currently 2. And before I was even a mom, I have always had this obsession with Organizing since I was very young. My mom can tell you all about it lol. Obviously I hate laundry, but organizing there is just something about it. Seeing everything lined up & in a place. You get what I mean. It’s just overall pleasing to the eye! Well my daughter has a bedroom & then a playroom. I find myself all day, everyday trying to keep up with both of them. No matter what I do or how often I pick up & try to find new methods it’s always a mess. Simply because she is young & doesn’t understand at all my organizing OCD ways. She just wants to play & gets upset with me when I put some stuff away. She takes it right back out immediately like “No mom I am playing with that” hahah it’s a struggle for us mamas. But I try to give myself some slack because I know she enjoys her things & won’t be this little forever. YOU did great, love the turn out. I love how you did the books rainbow style!!

Thank you for showing what the playroom actually looked like in the before not a before where everything is in its place and perfect. I've been looking for inspiration for the play room in the house we just bought and am starting to develop a real pet peeve for videos that start with this pristine perfect organized room then just reorganize it. So many videos talk about how their two year old takes out one bin plays with nothing but that then puts it all back just right.... sure they do. Your video was so nice and refreshing and showed the reality of kids.

It is funny you selected the EXACT same container from Walmart I chose- and added the same Dollar Store shoe boxes. I just wish your sort was for a "girl" to get more ideas. I love the white woven baskets and I am going to look for them today- I am inspired to keep going. It is really a way to just transform chaos- and really fun. Thanks for posting

Thinking about the Lego sort. I feel like the rainbow pieces sorted in the clear container would make me feel better- and they are sold as a basic kit by Lego- but i struggled with the "kits" or "sets" my grand daughter got for Birthdays and I feel like they needed to stay separately. I found the largest Dollar Store container "sterlite" fit the medium Lego box and I put them in the box by them selves but I want the look of the rainbow assortment so my thinking is- the "Friends Sets" are purple and pink oriented and they go into separate containers and then the "primary rainbow" generic pieces can be in the clear container. Just thinking aloud about the issue of Lego Mainenance.

We turned a train play table into a lego table by gluing the large green lego sheets to the surface. We also made it completely removable, the whole table top, and as he got older it resided on top of a desk so he could sit in a chair versus the floor. He was a lego maniac, ha! He is now 25 yo and I have a huge deep bucket with most of his legos and bionicles to pass on to his sons one day. We utilized those plastic storage bins and did a library system where you clean up one set and return it before getting out a different set. I miss these days SO much and love watching you sweet mamas organizing for your kiddos and it always warms my heart. May I ask why the books are at the top? Are they something that just gets tossed around? Maybe a reading nook in his future..?😱💕 It looks amazing, by the way!

Hey lady-just another idea for the future-I'm a teacher an I buy those clear scrapbook boxes with the handles from Michaels to store board games in my classroom. I cut the fronts off of them and tape them inside and then store the game pieces inside smaller snack containers and put everything in the scrapbook box. That would work for his larger puzzles as well.
