- On Sunday the 6th of May 2018, 1960's Alco 958 leads the SteamRanger Heritage Railway Southern Encounter tourist Train from Victor Harbor to Mount Barker in South Australia. The service ran Top Tail with 507 on the rear of the service from Victor Harbor to Goolwa Depot.

Absolutely love the green and gold of the australian national livery, brilliant to see the engine still operating and in those colours!
I personally prefer the SAR livery, but the AN livery is very striking nevertheless!

Would love to ride the Southern Encounter one day, because the 930 is my favourite SA locomotive!
Seems the Southern Encounter is out of action for a year or so but hopefully one day you'll get to ride behind the 930 on it! I've never ridden behind the 930 either.

7:36 the flashing light on top of the level crossing lights is interesting.
Reminds me of the strobe light AN added to some highway crossings in Tassie to get drivers attention.

Good video. 👌 A tiny thing but the harbour in Victor Harbor is spelt without the u (same as Outer Harbor). 😉
