I always felt like Garrus farewell was the most intense of them all. At that point it was already obvious to me that not everybody will make it to the every end and I always felt like Garrus knows that too. And he knows that you know so you're having the "see you on the other side" talk instead of the "I'm ready for the final push, Commander" preptalk the other characters got.
This video beautifully captures the bond they share. Garrus never had anything go right: his job, his team and even his views had to be corrected. Then comes along this friend of his named Shepard, and she basically anchors him to a solid state, keeping him sane. They grow a bond like no other and fall in love. However, as 3 goes on, he sees that Shepard is winding down and starts to lose hope. So the roles are switched and now Garrus will do anything to keep Shepard with him and keep her alive. But it wasn't meant to be as she will not allow him to go with her to the beam. And just like that, Garrus' dream of a future with Shepard is gone. He lost his job, his team and the love of his life. He has nothing left. This romance is often known for its corniness, but really it's one of the most tragic, sombering yet beautiful romances in the trilogy.
So sad :( but I definitely think in the 3rd one they all kind of knew what was coming, Shepard's death I mean. She and they had already lived through so much, hell Shepard had already died once. I think he was just desperately hoping that just maybe he wouldn't lose her but I think deep down he still knew he would.
and that's why i always manage to make my shepard survive (with the destroy ending). Let her die wasn't the problem (i was prepared for that), but I didn't want to hurt Garrus more than he deserved.
MiyuChan not for my ending destroy plus sheperd living has always been my ending also(happy mod ending) Edit: mainly because I don't trust the reapers and the reaper child, and they been getting away with genocide of all life for centuries and are mass manipulators they must die, 2 the other endings sheperd looses herself which is what harbinger wanted all along and one way or another the reapers are alive only in those endings and for two games it's been literally pointing to destroy the reapers and last but NOT least sheperd already died and both Garrus and sheperd both deserve better.
"Goodbye Garrus. And if I'm up there in that bar and you're not, I'll be looking down. You'll never be alone." I swear that line gets me every time. T^T I love this vid, it's so beautiful.
I love it how you mixed their tango with the final battle at the end, their highest high with their lowest low. It was a beautiful and bitter-sweet contrast, wonderful video

Love the romance between Garrus and Shepard, a romance founded on friendship but trust. Garrus was there all three games (provided on the player's choice) and he was there for Shepard. Called her "crazy" sure but never doubted even when the path could end up sideways. Plus they protect each other, they share the burdens and are supportive.
You just brought every feeling I have ever had towards this amazing ship come crashing down on me like a tidal wave. It was heartbreakingly beautiful. Hands down the best Shakarian tribute! What makes Mass Effect such a great game and makes you want to play it over and over isn’t the graphics or the unlimited options in the story but it is the story itself. The beauty of this trilogy is it makes you care about the characters and it does that is a terrific way. The linear storytelling, how your choices throughout come back to help or haunt you make the player realize that choices DO matter. The cast of character in the trilogy and how they interact with the Commander make the game so very enjoyable. The cast shows humor, sadness, arrogance, and yes humanity. The joke made by the cast make you chuckle, seeing a favorite character die makes you sad. THAT is what makes this a great series and makes Mass Effect a great game. The innocence of Tali, the arrogance of Miranda, the humor of Joker, the fanatical belief of Saren, the deadly certainly of Thane ; these are examples of how EA and Bioware made a great series, and make the player feel like they are not only a participate of the game but actually a part of it. But this is just my opinion

Renegade Shepard is a better fit for Garrus, at least my renegade Shepard is. She's not ruthless, or evil and she'll always do what's necessary to make sure what happened to her parents on Mintour never happens to someone else. She lost her whole team to her thresher maw attack, those loses hardened her like tempered steel. She has no patience for politics, no tolerance for bullshit and absolutely no mercy for criminals. She can relate to Garrus when it comes to losing an entire team, and if she could avenge their deaths she would in heartbeat. So she help Garrus in his mission to avenge his team. In the Shadow broker dlc it's revealed that Cerberus was responsible for the thresher maw attack. So in my head I imagine that Shepard destroying Cerberus and killing the Illusive Man was her avenging her own team, all those years ago.
3:25 got me and now I'm just sitting here, sobbing, knowing we'll never know is she's alive, if she comes back to him and if he will ever be happy and not alone again.

I've played through the ME Trilogy 4 times now. My first, and so far only, Femshep romanced Garrus. She was an infiltrator, and I liked to say she was the only one in the galaxy that was a better shot than Garrus. Point is, Femshep and Garrus are perfect for each other in my mind. I've played through the ME Trilogy 4 times now. My first, and so far only, Femshep romanced Garrus. She was an infiltrator, and I liked to say she was the only one in the galaxy that was a better shot than Garrus. Point is, Femshep and Garrus are perfect for each other in my mind. Awesome tribute to an awesome couple.
