As one who has aged out of doing anything above a normal tenor high A, I am just amazed at his gift.
I saw him live in October. This was the last piece he sang. I have to admit that as soon as I heard the opening notes, I swooned. Il est un ange dans le visage et la voix.

I've heard this sung by baritones, tenors, sopranos, contraltos, and trebles. But there's something about this particular song that just seems to blossom with a countertenor's voice.

It was originally sung by a castrato, I think, and his-Farinelli’s-life was made into a movie with a counter tenor. I’m still trying to find the movie. You can find this song by two different counter tenors in full regalia, one a clip from the movie.
