'Free Solo' director Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi's passion for storytelling has taken her on a journey around the world. From documenting the lives of seven young friends during the Kosovo war, to African musician Youssou N’Dour, Vasarhelyi offers an unfettered view wherever she goes.
Her latest project, which she co-directed with world-renowned photographer and husband Jimmy Chin, is a documentary that shows an intimate portrait of free soloist Alex Honnold as he prepares to climb Yosemite National Park’s 3,000ft El Capitan.
