I'm a man utd fan and actually love Henry's analysis. But him trying to defend ETH is not just it. Fact over sentiment bro. The coach has a lot of blame to take. I remember a match we played earlier this season, I think against Everton which was arguably man utd best match this season. ETH was suspended in that match so his assistant handled the match. A post match interview with Mc Tominay showed him saying they had a light training session before the match so they had enough energy to play

It's a fallacy that majority of united fans don't want ETH. If anything, majority want him to stay. Even this comment section tells as much.
It's another fallacy that ETH spent 400m and should be held accountable for his signings. Any proper club doesn't leave the signing of players into the hands of the manager alone; they present him options as long as they fit into the system. Man Utd when ETH came in were too reliant on his suggestions which shows a poor recruitment system. Aside that, no be ETH go negotiate 80m for Antony when same player could have been bought for 40m earlier in the transfer window. Man Utd does panic buys and teams take advantage of them.
ETH deserves another season for the following reasons:
1. Whilst his career at United hasn't been overly great, it's been relatively successful - highest win rate of any United manager, 3 cup finals in 2 seasons, 3rd position
2. No United manager has developed youths into first team like ETH since Fergie. Maybe lvg but his focus was more on numbers than quality. ETH has created an environment where youths of the highest quality are promoted and where those youths simply know that if they are good enough, they'll get in.
3. Financial considerations - well explained by Henry. What the report are saying is that Man Utd can only spend 100m; if they will spend 200m, players must be sold. So, you can't base the 30m on a 200m that you don't have.
4. ETH is a very good coach; his CV at Ajax and first year at United say as much. If you say it's expected at Ajax, see their league performance before and after he was there. As for United, for the first time in a while, Man Utd fans could see patterns last season of a team that wants to be proactive and have a football identity. The fact that it's not happening this season is largely due to unavailability of players.
5. There are no huge stand out replacement. Options available are either short term coaches who will disrupt the new culture being built or unproven at the highest level.
