I got to tell you man.... I've been playing guitar almost 50 years... and I've watched hundreds of UA-cam "teachers", in the last 5 or 10 years... and YOU my good man, are a VERY Good, even willing to say EXCELLENT Teacher, for acoustic guitar!... thank you for the knowledge. You showed today, on finger styles styles which I already knew about but you put them into a cohesive comprehensive grouping!.. I will be watching many of your other lessons especially the Blues, and Percussive finger-style blues lessons!... Keep on TEACHIN'!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Very grateful for this vid. Open d is fun. Shakey is amazing. Have to agree with the comment above. Late July (outside version) is possibly in open d. Would love your input. Keep your knowledge flowing brother
OK, so here’s the deal. I just found your channel today. I watched two of your videos….. the d chord and the e chord video… now I have struggled with the guitar for a long time. I can kind a half assed play shit and I’ve had formal lessons, but I’m just going to go out on the record and say this now for somebody who’s been practicing on it for a while, I have learned more from watching these two short little videos that you made than I have in the last two years of playing the guitar and that is no straight shit… I am very happy. I found this channel. I will be subscribing and watching all of your videos multiple times as I can see it really being able to help me advanced my lessons and skill set…. So big ass thanks bro
Thank you for so many great videos! I wish I'd have found you a lot earlier. Do you have any suggestions for getting good percussive sounds on an electric? I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out how R.L. Burnside pulled it off.
You advice about how to use the thumb is invaluable. A picking pattern for a rhumba-type tune I have been messing up for ages has suddenly been magically improved. How could this apply to hybrid picking (pick instead of thumb)?
I hate finger picking, not something I want to learn, the sound is just too mellow, for my taste. I hope you move on to something else, in future lessons.

Hi Michael! Thanks so much for your support, it means a lot to me!
Great details here to study. 📚
The more I know about learning guitar the more I realize there is vastly more to learn.
Thanks Heath.
Great breakdown of essential blues beats! Thanks again bud!✌🏻

For the Monotonic Bass listen to Mance Lipscomb.
I'm working on Black Mattie by Robert Belfour. Man that's a steady deadthumb!

Great to hear! For hybrid picking just try the same things. Thanks for watching and commenting!
What model Taylor is that?

This dude never used a pick and he was anything but mellow: ua-cam.com/video/1lHy-ASLWQM/v-deo.html
