Hi, I'd appreciate your input on whether MIT Sloan MBA offers full scholarships to international students upon acceptance, as I just applied and am eager to find out.
Necessary? No, it's not the case that every Sloan student has international experience. I'd be very surprised if even most of students have it - that's fine-tooth-comb data we don't have, but based on our students who've gotten in, international experience is not a requirement. Like a lot of other things, (the right kind of) international experience is a good look, especially if it's a key part of the stories you tell in your MBA essays.
Impossible to say!! And it will vary by person. They are using it to assess your personality, personability, communication style, and other intangibles. They will need some people to show MORE on that dimension than others. If you have a resume strong in people skill achievements, the video may be just a box to check. If your resume shows much more technical strength and not a lot of soft skills, then the video essay may be more important. And with all components of the app, it could knock you out of competition for a variety of reasons. No choice but to do your best and show your best self. Good luck!!
Well, white men still make up the majority of almost all MBA classes, including MIT. But as emphasis on diversity increases, it just means that competition for those spots increases. So make sure if you are in a category of applicants demographically, you've got your statistics tight!
How do you do fellow nerds? 🤓

How important would you say the video essay is for the Sloan interview call-up compared to other application components?
