Since then she has moved thousands of miles away to another state, and we only rarely communicate any more. Eilish, and most importantly this song, is a beautiful reminder of a beautiful person I didn't help when they needed it, but helped me ever so much, and they don't even know that they did. when i was 12 i went into foster care because my father was abusive, and my carers were amazing, amazing people. this was march 2020, before quarantine started. then quarantine happened, and i remember we had to bake cookies. just basic cookies. well i listened to this song on repeat around that time, and now everytime i go back to this song i remember feeling so happy and free. i've forgotton what those cookies looked like yet i can almost smell those cookies, lol. i live with him again, and he's much better than before. but i still miss that place like it hurts.
