  • While many travelers to northern Thailand have heard of the famous Mae Hong Son Loop, we chose a slightly less touristy adventure: the Mae Salong Loop. Over six days, we rented a car (yes, a car-not a motorbike!) and explored this stunning region, filled with winding mountain roads, charming villages, and breathtaking landscapes.
With little information available about driving this loop by car, we’re sharing our experience in a three-part series to inspire your journey and help you plan your own trip.
What We Did in Part 3
    🌟 Temples & Sights
Wat Phra That Santitham: A peaceful hilltop temple with incredible views
The White Temple: Iconic and impressive, but busy midday
Wat Jed Yod: A quiet temple tucked away in Chiang Rai
    🎆 Festivals & Fun
Loy Krathong: A magical evening by the river with krathongs and festival
Chiang Rai Night Bazaar: Delicious food, shopping, and local vibes
    🐒 A Little Adventure
Fish Cave Temple: Monkeys, fish, and a unique stop outside the city
Acupuncture: Jimmy’s first experience-did he like it?
    🏨 Where We Stayed
We stayed at Baan Pordeedin Hotel, an affordable and comfortable base to explore Chiang Rai.
