All 6 Sonatinas from opus 36 were written in 1797 and then were revised in 1820. They are very popular among piano students of beginner and intermediate levels.
These are "must play" sonatinas for all students.
Clementi was a very prominent piano figure in his day. He played a great role in popularising the piano. He wrote for the piano and was even manufacturing them.
He wrote many exercises for the students, studies-some of which are quite difficult. Sonatas, Sonatinas etc. He was also a prolific performer of his time.
