It did im from New Nork im good friends with sanitation workers who did the clean up it was rough stuff apparently coming home covered in dirt dust and building materials some people got cancer from it
Absolutely! When they collapsed, the buildings ended up in the foundation bath tub. Neater than it could have been but still a pain to remove. Plus, if I recall correctly, the nose gear from one of the aircraft was found in 2011... 10 years after the event!

I’m from the UK and was on holiday in Ibiza on 9/11 , walking down the street I saw a group of people crowding around a Television shop , and went over to see what was happening, and then I saw the attacks on the twin towers, I was truly shocked and totally stunned.

Could do a megaproject on the ground zero clean up. Some of the steel was reused to build the USS New York. I heard the salvage and reforging process got delayed because the workers kept breaking down.
All the steel was packed onto trucks and shipped out to China to be recycled. Why the rush and need to get the evidence out of the country within days? The police or FBI would've went mental at a crime scene being pulled apart like that. If I'd lost someone there, I'd have been asking why they trucked it all up and the operating to ship it out to China in days began and the security for those trucks and at the docks was excessively overboard.

Operation Desert Storm should be a mega projects video. Super interesting and a massive logistical achievement.
Two things, 1.) Simon drew "the line," on the conspiracy talk to stay on topic. Speculation seems like an impossibly easy thing to fall into on this issue. Great video. 2.) My air conditioner kicked on around the 14:50ish mark right when I SWORE I heard Simon say "The mission to fly in 25 BABY seals aboard helicopters who would then storm the compound and kill Bin Laden...." I had to back the video up to listen to it again...and again, and now I can't unhear it. Not to make light of a serious topic, but man, it really sounded like some badass baby seals were about to wreak havoc.
Baby seals have very sharp teeth. (And, I heard baby seals too.)

Probably not. It is more likely that sympathetic members of ISI (Pakistan’s Intelligence Service) assisted UBL. The understanding was that if he got caught by the Americans they couldn’t assist him and would also deny they helped him. The ISI was probably keeping UBL under wraps to be used as a bargaining chip at a later date

Hard to believe we mark the 20th anniversary of that horrific Tuesday this year.
I was in10th grade, headed to 2nd period.
I had just sat down for coffee break and flipped on the news . Never forget that moment.
I was in fifth grade, and my dad was stationed in Germany at the time, so we saw it all unfold when I got home from school and was working on homework.
I’ll never forget.
I was at work when the news started coming through.
At a software house that specialised in banking software.
It collapsed I believe as a direct result of the financial shock to banks, and I was out of work for some months.
I was stationed in Pearl Harbor on a ship but working for the barracks that the crew stayed in. Got up and just happen to turn the TV on and watched the replay. Base and ships were locked down for 3-4 days and I would drive around in a golf cart watching the base fence at night.
I was 4, eating sand or sthn idk.
I was living in Fairfield, CT on 9/11. I remember being able to see the smoke from the towers on the highway. I also remember going into school. I was in the 7th grade amd every classroom had the tv on to the news. I also remember kids crying in the hallway because they had a parent or even both parents who worked in the towers

I was in Toronto. Just got home after an 15 hour day rigging a show at the Skydome, which then got cancelled when it was considered a potential target. I was called back TO THE POTENTIAL TARGET to take the show down. I refused, not because it was a target (it wasn't really) but because we were all so tired, it was unsafe. I had also already poured myself a drink before turning the TV on at the 'end' of my day. Drinking and heights don't mix... No one went back, and as I understand it, the venue didn't charge any extra for the days delay...
@Jordon Carlson Kinda, except the overtime thing. We would all have been in overtime (we already were when we left). It was just very unsafe (not the whole potential target thing). The company shouldn't have even entertained the thought of having us come back.
I lived in NYC, 1st time i ever seen NYC residents ban together don't matter who you are we helping you, it hurt ALOT of people seeing them towers go down same with NJ and CT people.
With its recent collapse the Arecibo telescope (The one used for filming Goldeneye) might make for a good video, either here or sideprojects if its a shorter story

I was working in Washington Dc the night they killed/announced the killing. I was in an embassy removing old office furniture and loading semi trucks. When I noticed everyone hooting and hollering everywhere. People were coming out in droves and I didnt understand why. It was extremely late and I couldnt understand why people were celebrating at 1am on a random night. Finished my cig and went back to work. When I was picked up @ 6am when the job was done I was informed of the killing. pretty freakin cool to be there for it.

Pentagon is the biggest red flag for me. People can debate the towers falling from an explosion or jet fuel heat but there was nothing at the site of the pentagon, just a partially collapsed building. Also is it even possible for a plane to get so low to the ground without stalling/ striking anything else in the area?

September 11th, 2001: I was in school, I had been excused to go use the restroom. While indisposed I heard someone running down the hallway screaming at the top of his lungs: “WE HAVE BEEN ATTACKED!” On my way back to class every classroom door was open with the news blaring on every television. Once I made it back to class an announcement was made over the school PA system stating that school was mandatorily being let out early as a result of what was going on. Watching the Twin Towers fall, and the rest of that hell at such a young age is something that will stick with me for the remainder of my life. So sad!
Yea it hurt, I lived in NYC, Bronx at the time in school. They told everybody GO STRAIGHT HOME. It was the 1st time I ever seen everybody in NYC band together don't make what race you are people was helping each other, the towers going down hurt me ALOT since I been there on a school trip.

I was in school in 3rd grade on 9/11. The teachers weren't allowed to tell us what what was happening, but a lot of other kids we being picked up early and we didn't know why. I remember when I was picked up, first thing I asked my parents why they packed me lunch if I was being picked up early.

Odd shared detention experience lol Except the teacher let us watch it on the news as it was happening, and that's when the second plane hit. She then quickly shut it off as a few other teacher gathered out in the hall where they rolled the tv out to, and continued watching without us.. Wild realization at the younger age to think that an actual terrorist attack was happening! To see the fear in the eyes of those who have family in NY is something that stuck with me throughout the years growing up.

As an American, this video inspires a new emotion in me. Prideshame. Pride that we conducted a textbook targeted raid to take out the man who killed everyone in the town towers, shame that we violated a sovereign nation's boarders to do it. Pride that we treated a fallen enemy with enough respect to dispose of the body in accordance to the religion he followed, and shame that we dumped the body at sea and didn't tell anyone for days. Powerful stuff.
The piece should've started when the real hunt started, that is, right after kenya embassy bombing.
As also the Torra Borra mountain strikes weren't the first ones to target Laden in Afghanistan but rather it was the cruise missile strikes even before 9/11.
And right before 9/11 USA had readied a Pakistani army special forces team to extract and handover Laden from Kandahar to US.
Right after 911, I told everyone I knew that bin Laden had escaped Tora Bora and was staying at the Islamabad Hilton. If I could come this close so could our intelligence agencies. Bin Laden was a useful boogie man for making some real money off of war IMO.

I will never forget where I was on 9/11. I was walking by the TV just as the second plane hit, I could not believe what I was seeing. I was on a flight back home within the week.

According to Seymour Hersh, Bin Laden was captured by Pakistani intelligence and held in captivity until a retired intelligence officer marched into U.S embassy spilling the beans and claiming the 25 million dollar bounty. US then proceeded to basically tell Pakistan to hand him over and the attack was in fact staged.
Not that I really know what is true but I would ask anyone scoffing at this information to look at Hersh's credentials and previous work as an investigative journalist. You know him as the guy who broke the story on Mỹ Lai massacre.
Should probs mention I havent read on the subject in years so I might be a bit off on the facts but as I recall that was the claim

I’d like to point out the fact that Pakistan took in 3 million refugees and suffered 70,000 casualties from their support of the US in it’s war on terror. There are more afghanis in Pakistan today than there are in Afghanistan. Pakistan has extremely limited infrastructure and resources to vet every single one of these 3 million refugees at every single point across the extensive Durand Line so the odds of Osama slipping in under-the-radar in disguise are extremely high. It doesn’t mean the country was harboring him. If you’ve ever been to Pakistan you would know how easy it would be for a disguised OBL to wander around the country in plain sight but to accuse Pakistan of “harboring” him while the people in Pakistan had to go about their day-to-day lives constantly under the threat of suicide attacks just for trying to be a mediator of peace in the region is just plain insane.

Pakistan didn't "cry foul" the president of Pakistan then thanked Obama on a phone call because they were receiving millions in aid, the relationship between the countries did go down later in December when US Nato killed Pakistani soldiers mistaking them for militants, this caused the downfall of US-Pak relations and Pak cut off Nato supply to Afghanistan. What got me was the special episode of Sherlock set in Victorian London (during the period of the original books) where Dr. Watson was still just returned from the Afghan war, I was like wow it really is all just a little bit of history repeating.

There’s a fantastic tv show called The Newsroom and they did an episode about the killing of OBL.
The episode was titled “5/2” and highlighted the steps that the fictional media company ACN had to take in order to ascertain if the information and rumours were correct.
If you’ve never seen the show then I highly recommend it as it’s very funny but also serious as to how the news is portrayed.
