It's so hard to find someone who plays Last Midnight out as unhinged as this. It's really what the song needs - this was the witch's breaking point. She lost everything she cared about, everyone is blaming it on her, never mind that they ALL had a part in it, everything is ALWAYS blamed on her just because she's the witch, and now from her perspective they're even hypocrites for suddenly not finding the sacrifice of a life worth it to stop all this. She just gets all that ugly out in the open because if they're all gonna die, they're gonna die knowing how she feels.
See what’s so good about her witch is the pause between “Just give me the boy.” and her “no” it’s so calculated and gives her just a moment to think before coming back with that “no” there are so many witches that just snap back with that “no” and it just feels RUSHED! she did amazing
“I’m the witch. You’re the world.” is a line I had never really considered before but gains so much significance in my mind through this performance. It changes the whole way I see the Witch as an Othered entity. Brilliant interpretation and performance.
Your Fault is always a pleaser to me. I love the characters thought process while singing the song and finding out whose fault it actually is. Aubee's voice is amazing!
This song is every musical theater kids' dream and nightmare. Its such a wonderful show but also super difficult to learn and perform. For a highschool this is AMAZING.
Wow - what a performance! Such emotional strength! In a sense, the entire show pivots on this song and Billee delivers it with such interpretive intelligence and artistry. In my opinion the entire show has never been in better collective hands as it is in this production from King''s.
“i’m not good im not nice im JUST RIGHT” and “im the hitch im what no one believes im THE WITCH” has so much rage and emotion behind it and it’s so intense and layered i literally can feel it oh my god.
and the “alright mother WHEN” because she spent her whole life regretting not protecting those stupid beans but now it doesn’t even matter anymore. she knows what’s going to happen.
I'm really loving the double casting here! Both Ms. Billie and Ms. Henley have powerful vocals, but they bring such different energies. I hope we'll see more of both of them in the future!
That’s Aubee Billie. She played Esmeralda in their new production of Hunchback as well as some other role in one of their newer productions of Les Mis. (All of these productions are on this Christian school’s UA-cam channel.)
First of all the diction in your fault was amazing I could understand every single word, especially the baker who can be tricky. The witch made so many great vocal choices for this sing, I don't think i've ever felt that connected to the witch while watching a last midnight performance
Love your productions and all the words in the songs are so clear. Even more so than the Broadway and London productions. Like Ever After etc, which is a really fast song, you can not only hear all the words, but also each individual persons voice key. Thank you
Did anyone else notice he said rather than "... and you had to tell a lie to sell it wich you told" he said "... and you had to sell a lie to tell it wich you told"? (I know im beong critical this was very well performed.)
The Baker is really fantastic and spot-on, but I'll be honest, the rest were a bit all over the place.. but they are all obviously very talented- it's the direction that threw them. (and also, they are students.. God knows I wasn't better when I was still a student 😅)
I don't understand why everyone is wearing microphones. This is live theatre. If you can't project your voice to the back of the house, you shouldn't be on the stage. Period.
There are even some opera houses that do it. And yes, I'm well aware of this fact. That doesn't mean that its right. It creates and encourages lazy, undertrained performers.@@shewearsshortskirts7627
@@seantodd8875 if you want to strain your voice so loud the partial hearing grandmothers can hear you, go for it. i guarantee that it will be a lot harder to show emotion or vary volume in your voice. and you would 100% be laughed at if you requested no microphone as you would basically be yelling of your lines.
Speaking as someone with a great deal of experience in this area, having performed in about 50 plays, musicals, and advertisements, I can say that I can be heard just fine on stage without a mic, and I have never strained my voice or yelled my lines@@shewearsshortskirts7627

Thank you, I didn't understand really good before the witch mental mind in this moment
Yes, this girl knew the assigment! I'm impressed!
This! I absolutely love her performance here, it's totally representative of her mental state
Thanks I never understood so thanks for the help

Don't be shy, upload the whole show. 👁️👁️
@razzle dazzle the playlist doesn’t have it?? If you do have it pls show me
@@31oise the playlist is the entire show
Your Fault is always a pleaser to me. I love the characters thought process while singing the song and finding out whose fault it actually is. Aubee's voice is amazing!
2:47 is when "The Last Midnight" starts, I'm putting this here so I can come back to it. I love Aubee's performance!!
Thank you for this! Aubee's Last Midnight is sooo good
This song is every musical theater kids' dream and nightmare. Its such a wonderful show but also super difficult to learn and perform. For a highschool this is AMAZING.
I did not realize this was a high school production!! I see it's a fine arts high school but my goodness, that makes Aubee's talent even more amazing!
Yeah Jack messed up the lyrics in the beginning

SHE IS SO INCRERIBLE-
The emotion, the singing, the acting- I LOVE HER SO MUCH
The actress singing the Witch is great. The staging, the "Mother, here I come!", and some of the other direction is definitely....a choice.
“i’m not good im not nice im JUST RIGHT” and “im the hitch im what no one believes im THE WITCH” has so much rage and emotion behind it and it’s so intense and layered i literally can feel it oh my god.

The young woman playing the witch deserved much mite applause
I like the energy Billie brings to the Witch, but I'm most impressed by the gentleman playing The Baker!
Felt they were rushing through the dialogue at first, but dang the witch’s singing and acting blew me away. Just wow.
Probably my favorite performance of this song! Crazy good! Making myself a marker for where Last Midnight begins: 2:47
I'm really loving the double casting here! Both Ms. Billie and Ms. Henley have powerful vocals, but they bring such different energies. I hope we'll see more of both of them in the future!
Same!!! Both of them were amazing!!!!
Ooh, that light shift to blue and the the Witch putting her finger up sent chills down my spine!
Same!
This cast is unhinged and I love it

Everyone's excellent, but the witch is phenomenal! What a talent! 💕
That Witch was brilliant!!
My GOD she is BRILLIANT.
First of all the diction in your fault was amazing I could understand every single word, especially the baker who can be tricky. The witch made so many great vocal choices for this sing, I don't think i've ever felt that connected to the witch while watching a last midnight performance
Billiee such an incredible performance !
My god this is a FANTASTIC vocal and acting performance. Well done.
She killed this
Absolutely loving the witch!
Holy Toledo, what a stunning performance by the person playing the Witch!
My favorite song in the musical, we watched this in chorus

OMG SHE’S SO FREAKING TALENTED 😭 Also the whole cast did a great job
When she started to sing, she gave me the chills.
They are really good at singing.
bro i never thought there would be anyone who sings last midnight almost as well as meryl streep. I loved it.
ooooo i love the way she says “last”! i’m most people go “laaahst”, this one sounds really unique and much angrier!
chills chills chills
Really great performances here!
Okay I came back and the ladies saved this scene for sure…
She sounds great
Really strong!!!
Did anyone else notice he said rather than "... and you had to tell a lie to sell it wich you told" he said "... and you had to sell a lie to tell it wich you told"?
(I know im beong critical this was very well performed.)
Wow, so good! Where is this young lady now?
The witch is really good
It's the witch's fault, she stole she show, she's so good
The Baker is really fantastic and spot-on, but I'll be honest, the rest were a bit all over the place.. but they are all obviously very talented- it's the direction that threw them. (and also, they are students.. God knows I wasn't better when I was still a student 😅)
You are correct, it seems like they barely rehearsed any real movements
AMAZING!
Well done!
GIRL THE WITCH SUBG SO WELL😭😨❤️🩹
4:05
4:44
The witch portrayal is just like Merly
The baker said “which you had to sell a lie to tell it with you told”
Jack is so funny 😂
Does it seem funny that she says "you're so nice," right after they all finished screaming and blaming each other?
no crumbs.......... they're all gone....
Cool
the Wtch gave competition to Meryl and Hannah
This was fine. Why did they do Your Fault so slow?
When I did this play we saddlery did not do this song😢
They forgot to add arms if a princess at the end (it’s not part of last midnight in the music)
Well, that was certainly good... Like better than Broadway good.
The crowd was too quiet
If I remember this was filmed during lockdown so there was no audience
@@jrgrimm6091 oh nooo 😭
Nice performance! Why is the witch dressed a bit like a showgirl though?
NAMES NAMES PLEASE
This is cool but I like the original better
Is that Noah Schnapp?
Nopes
nope, Maximo Toledo is the actors name
Why is the witch saying "Had to get your prince?" to Red?
i must not be hearing what y'all are hearing but ok, go off i guess lmao
Is it bad or something
She really ctrl alt delete there 😅
Jack lost me the minute he lost the beat. I’m out…
why does it feel soulless
