First and only Bf109G-2/Trop in a while! It was my favorite plane when I first started Germany many years ago. I got quite lucky to get this good of a match this quickly.

Can you explain sort of how the chart worked? It looked more like an altitude chart but I guess that would make sense because altitude is a big part of energy
RedJive213 specific energy equals one half speed squared plus the product of altitude times 9.81ms^-2. It is the total kinetic and potential energy of the airplane divided by its mass, with potential energy being defined as 0 at sea level.

Lmao but yeah team plays a big part in the success of an aircraft.
Stealth Spider I play my LF MK9 so I’m always above everyone, I’m just complaining that that performance is insane for a plane at 4.3, Gunpods even more broken because you get hit once and back to the hangar, while HisPAINos take above 4 to 8 shells at least to destroy a part of a plane.

If you learn how to boom and zoom, it’s an easy 2-3 kills per match. And usually plenty of assist. Guns jamming or running out is a problem though

Nah it's manual. Tracking a whole team would be a nightmare haha. I did consider tracking my own energy for the whole match.
You can program specific energy onto the local host, it only needs a few lines of code, assuming you actually can program onto it
Void Mei calculates the specific excess power and overlays it over the game.
Well Adam, its been over a year ago when you've uploaded this and recently I just went back this far to remember the day, I started playing War Thunder and jump straight into SB into a proving ground. I feel interested in the idea to achieve ace in a flight or more. Even double ace in a flight will be cool. In SB, I fly similar but older brother of the G2/trop, the F4/trop. Recently about a week ago, after so many struggles and crashes, yet baptism of fire upon spitfire's firing squad, I managed to achieve double ace (10 kills) in a flight only crash landed somewhere over Essen, Ruhr, due to low fuel. But most of all, this very video inspired me (lured me) into War Thunder world. Glad to comeback and pay a visit into Adam514's channel ;)

Man that's some class A bullshit. I can barely get 1 kill in realistic air with this plane and this man gets 8 kills, and has the turning rate of a damn car, but my BF 109 trop turns like a maus with zero modifications
Which Bf109? Flaps are useful too under 400km/h IAS. Make sure you use IAS instead of TAS too.

Yeah XP55 should be at a higher BR especially considering it's a premium.
@@AdamTheEnginerd Gaijin need more money and XP-55 at 3.7 is perfect way how to get them. German planes like Bf-109 F-4 are unable to kill this UFO and even top-tier Bf-109 G-6 have problems.

109 g2 is clubby. Pound for pound it's the beat plane in its game due to it's great match maker, and for in the air rb meta
I think there are better, but yeah it's strong.

Great Video! You're an excellent pilot in a 109! Also, I have a proposition. I play on console and would love to get better at dogfighting. Your videos already help a lot, as I'm a novice, so even basic concepts are new to me. However, the nature of console makes performing complex manuevers and controlling parts of your plane extremely hard most of the time. Maybe you could make a video for us console players to give tips or tricks so that we can compete in the air against PC in crossplay.

Why dont you use the prop pitch to grab more air at high altitude?
The prop pitch trick to increase thrust? I could have, but I was quite busy managing the overheating and making efficient maneuvers during the 1vs2 to safely use the extra thrust. At high altitude you overrev easier.

I use Sony Vegas Pro 15 to edit, and thumbnails it's photoshop I think (I don't make the thumbnails).

Can I ask what software do you use to display the performance graphs of the aircraft and give us details of the performance of the aircraft?
The performance graphs are done manually by checking the speed and altitude of every aircraft in the replay and putting them in energy equations to create the graph on Matlab.
The characteristics box is the "local host".
How to access the "local host":
You need to be running War Thunder or it won't work!
Option 1: on the same computer that is running WT:
-Type localhost:8111/ in the address bar and press enter and voila.
Option 2 (which also works on the computer that runs WT):
-Type Your_IP_Address:8111/ where you replace "Your_IP_Address" by your IP Address (192.168.X.XXX) in the address bar and press enter and voila, you can look at the characteristics on another device while flying.

J/kg to be more precise (specific energy doesn't take into account mass), but I converted it to equivalent meters of potential energy so that the units mean something concrete.

So, what exactly did you do to nail that Spit for the third kill? I find passes like that to be the hardest to dodge, and he did pretty much what I would have done. Is it a matter of maneuvering too late, or did he just not pull as hard as he could have?
He should have rolled and dove steeper when I got in range, which would force me to adjust my aim and at the same time present a smaller target.

U can solve the over heating with rads at 70% in most maps....so i dont think this plane has any vices or cons
Nah even 100% doesn't prevent overheating, and at 70% rads it creates a substantial amount of drag which reduces your speed.

The more speed u want ...the higher the engine temperature.....

In my games no allies ever climb that high nor do they climb w me and stay w me and there's never 3 allies up that high all near each other and when you look at your battlefield you can see 7 or 8 allies to maybe 4 or 5 enemies when I go into game I see 4 or 5 allies and like 15 18 enemies....theres always 2 enemies who climb to my altitude and im always 2v1 it'd be nice to see some people fly above 1k km more often and as a team too like when I spawn I literally just pick 1 guy and try to follow them or cover them...of course tho if you dive to 500m from the start imma just leave you...and then the damn bombers spamming the cover me chat in the beginning and what do they do? They fly directly at the enemy, who the fuck does that I can't cover you when your flying at 250kmh at 500m above sea level...like don't be a bitch and fly your plane 😒 I'd cover the bombers more often if they were at or even near my altitude lol the people make the game the way it is!
These days though, there's basically max bombers on both teams since they are mixed. But what you said used to be the case in most games.

Hottest as in overheating potential? All the Yak9s 5.0 and above would be the same in that regard.
@@AdamTheEnginerd yes, they have same engines, props and cooling system, but 9P is 5.0 plane (and 9U even 4.3), this maybe the reason why 9UT seems more hot then others - it requires more WEP usage and its overheat problem are more noticeable.

I imagine because opening up the radiators more slows the aircraft down. He did pop them to 50% now and then to cool off, then likely set them back lower so he could keep his energy up.
@@RedRocky54 opening them up to 50% in a plane that climbs at slower speed won't make big difference and in exchange you'll get wep until you run out of fuel
It overheats at 100% anyway, so might as well get lower drag out of it.

Yeah with a PS4 controller, you've got other priorities than MEC.
The way you reverse with a bf 109 g2 is impressive man. they are pretty sluggish to make for a successful reversal.
The P38 was crit though haha.
G-2 has a fucking 27mm steel plate behind the fuel tank below the pilot, 20 fucking 7 :|
That sounds like a lot, but yeah late Bf109s are quite armored.
The G2 Engine power ain't really stronger than the F4 601, the 601 is the best 601 and the 605 in the G2 is the worst
