I have never heard Tarja using her voice like this before. This sardonic, playful, carnal, and almost vicious sound. This was the song I was the most sceptical about, 'cause it is bloody jingle bell rock! What the heck can you do to it?
But yeah, she comes along like Lilith from the depths of the netherworld, and rocks the song to high heavens. Holy shit!

@@earMUSICofficial Great singing, but poor choice of material. I liked Tarja during her 1st 3 albums with Nightwish where she had great singing with better choice of material.
Maybe Tarja should do only real classical music and real opera because that's where her strength lies or at least do something like symphonic power metal like she did with Nightwish.

This video is amazing. The postapo theme in her video collection for this album is my favorite. Jingle Bells Rock was a big surprise for me because of the rockier sound and I'm very happy that Tarja also added a harder song to the album.
I think I'll need a spring album from her after this Dark Christmas, but the themes that spring to mind right now are our annual spring rituals like witch-burning or the drowning of Morana, the goddess of death and winter, rather than sunshine and blooming landscapes. Tarja darked me and it's wonderful 🖤

Whoa...that is the only version of Jingle Bell Rock that I don't hate! Normally, I absolutely HATE Jingle Bell Rock, and my heart sank when I found out she was doing that awful song. But I should've known to not doubt her. She turned it upside down, and rearranged everything into something unrecognizable, outside of the words! Thank you, Tarja for fixing Jingle Bell Rock! :O
