That looks simply awesome and easy to use.. Great result 👏🏼👏🏼, regards, Chris
I like the look of Woodland Scenics deep pour water. I will need a fair bit on my layout at some point. Thanks for showing how to, you made ist look easy👍 Cheers, John
Thanks John, I look forward to seeing the water feature on your layout.
WS should make you brand ambassador. Maybe you already are. You are by far one of the best diorama builders I know.
Cheers, Any.
That's very kind of you to say. I'm not linked or sponsored by anyone - I think those companies mainly deal with the really big channels so I'm a long way behind!
@@DartsideScenics good for you, that way you are your own man. Aside from a gifted diorama builder I wanted to say that you are also a good photographer. You have the rare ability to present complex matters in a way that it makes it easy for anyone to comprehend. That’s why I like looking at your videos.
@@anyblunder6782 thank you. I just use my trusty phone camera and I’m very lucky to live in a beautiful area to use as a backdrop 😊
@@DartsideScenics well, then there is truth in the saying that it’s not the camera but the man behind the camera that makes the picture. Indeed, you live in a beautiful area. Obviously plenty of inspiration there.
Cheers, Any.
beautiful work - this really brightened my day and makes me want to get on with my own projects =D thank you!
Wonderful diorama and excellent tutorial. I have been somewhat confused over water products but am gravitating towards Deep Pour Water (I like Woodland Scenics products) and I was looking for some guidance. The WS video left me with some questions and your presentation (clear, straightforward and very helpful) answered them! So a big thank you from East Devon.
Excellent Andy thanks, deep water is my next modelling challenge. I see that WWS have a similar product now atb Andy
Thanks Andy. Yes, WWS have recently released some resin. I think Sam at Peaks 47 is trying it out soon.
This is surely inspired by the Postbridge clapper bridge, the realism is off the scale. Have you thought about making a collection of well known Tors? Yours is remarkable work, my friend.
Thank you. You are absolutely right- Postbridge was the inspiration! I have another video which goes into more detail on the clapper bridge build and I added some video and photos of Postbridge from the days I visited.
Your photography is brilliant. I've never tried the Deep Pour Water. Epoxy is cheaper in larger quantities, I find. Great model - well done!
Wow stunning! Thanks for demonstrating how to use deep pour water, curious if you have experienced the resin scratching? and is there a method/polish you recommend to address it?
Thank you Jonathan! Fortunately, I have never experienced a scratch but I usually have a layer of ripples (gloss Mod Podge) which protects it. If you don’t use a layer of ripples, I think it will always be slightly vulnerable to damage on a regularly used layout.
@@DartsideScenics How long did you wait before applying the mod podge?
@@JonathanChristian21 it usually takes 24 hours to cure depending on conditions. If there is any doubt, perhaps leave it for 48 hours.
If you're modeling english rivers then "Murky" is just the ticket....I'm in Canada so I get to use the clear stuff...LOL.
I dont have a blow torch, is there any other way to remove excess bubbles without shelling out ?
I’ve seen isopropyl alcohol spray used although I haven’t tried it myself. That still has a cost so not ideal. Mixing the resin gently should reduce the risk of bubbles.
Definately would like to see more of these detailed and in-depth tutorials. Thank you.
Thank you.
