god i hate those Sandshrew, once i got further into the dungeon (maybe like 7F) i was just gunning it to the stairs because i was so annoyed by specifically the Sandshrew.
Stiopic I got back into the game a few months ago after not playing for 4 years. Very good decision I’d say! Brought back tons of memories and good times playing.
This game and the original red and blue rescue team make me so nostalgic I want to cry. I remember going into a supermarket to get a copy of Blue rescue team when I was a child, I'd even pickup walkthrough magazines on the game.
I almost only listen to classical music, but this game's music has a very unique feeling to it that i love, brings me so many memories back from when i first played it when i was 7 years old.
I love this song because it makes me think of a long and difficult journey. Just the notes flowing one after another, like it's telling you a story and the part that I love most is at min 1:00 because when it seems it's about to end, the music starts to get slower but then it starts again gaining speed, being even better than before. Does anyone feel the same?
It's quite like a visit to a real desert! It's already sweltering and you can feel your characters walking through each step akin to tottering with exhaustion. Then it reaches that point, slows down, as though they had to slow down to recompose. The song's swing-y feeling really makes you feel as though your characters are swinging with exhaustion, and its lax-like melody makes you feel as though they WANT to sit down and sleep forever.
I was playing pokerogue and in the seafloor biome when this rolled on from a totally different track and weirdly it kinda fits the under the sea vibe... or at least most of it. definitely makes me think im running out of air soon.
Gritzy Desert and Teehee Valley from Mario and Luigi, Oblivia and Mor Ardain from Xenoblade, I LOVE desert themes in Gaming. Those are the only 4 I can think of off the top of my head to add!
@@hlewis5217 out of all of them I reccommend Gritzy Desert the most by far. If I wasn't a sucker for everything Mystery Dungeon, Gritzy Desert would be my favorite desert theme in general! It's such a good song that it was the first Mario and Luigi song added to AND remixed for Smash! (albeit I prefer the original DS composition)
I remember hard focusing this game one summer, I played this level on a really hot day and now whenever it's a warm evening I just listen to this and it brings me back to all the joys I've had of playing this game
Easily my favorite theme in explorers of darkness. (i could never find a copy of explorers of sky i could afford.) To me it perfectly captures the essence of rescue team exploration. It's grand, yet mysterious.

for some reason i’ve always interpreted this song in a western esque way lol. i think it’s just me though because i have a very distinct memory of playing my ds and going through this region while we were traveling through new mexico and arizona to the grand canyon ahaha
There is so much nostalgia in this track, probably because it really feels like a journey, not a grandiose one, but a "I'm tired but we need to keep going" one.

I love how they made a desert song without the common tropes. This still sounds distinctly desert even without Egyptian/Arabic melodies.
The dungeon may play a bit on the feeling of a desert song, but the strings really capture the essence imo
the flute is playing a classic Kirby theme
literally the genius of this games ost, they made beautiful ost's for each scenery without using any of the common tropes related to that specific genre
I feel the complete opposite lmao. when I first heard the song I was kinda off put because it sounds more forest-y than anything
definitely associate this song with the Sonora desert more than anything. can hear the howls of the valleys
*Northern Desert* the place that is swept by sandstorms and makes *Sandshrew* harder to hit. I keep a very good memory.
One word, Psyduck.

to me the tempo change partway through foreshadows the presence of a time gear without stating it through dialogue and i love that
If that's true, it's completely genius. Never made the connection but it makes total sense!
This is brilliant
I seriously think that the Mystery Dungeon series has some of the best soundtracks in gaming

it plays in my head even as an adult. soundtrack to my life

I don't hear a mistake. This is exactly what it sounds like in my game.
