Fresh from her debut album release last week, Bristol’s Katy J Pearson unearths her unmistakable vocals with a brush of Bob Dylan embedded in her lyrics and the spirit of Patti Smith staring out from her soul in The Club. “It was so fun! Just so nice to be playing with my band again and in a venue. Was a real privilege.”
Speaking about the challenges Covid has presented for the singer, during a time when releasing a record could be a daunting prospect, she says, “I found it pretty hard as I was feeling quite overwhelmed, but since time has passed I’m back to writing again which has been wonderful.”
And as for any close encounters of her own? “Alas I have not as of yet! Maybe one day…”
