Idgaf about anything else right now. Literally just opened UA-cam and searched for this like...out of NOWHERE and suddenly I'm feeling so damn...comfortable. Takes me back.
Listening to this song again for the first time in nearly 15 years. At the time this song was really sad to me and that was okay for how I felt at the time. Now i'm in a happier place the lyrics have a new meaning to me.
The girl that i loved in high school messaged me the other day, "you are the circle and i am the square." It nice to know that she still remembered all these years even destiny never fell into our circle. Its been 7 years now literally and she stills remember this song; the song i dedicated to her =)
Here listening during the pandemic of 2020...this makes me remember a better time even if that was one of the hardest times too. I would give anything to go back there.
I was going through some old computer back ups and found this song, so I figured I would try to find this video, as this was the first place I heard this song, almost 14 years later, this video is still here, amazing.
Wow. I found this song when I was 12-13. I'm listening to it now at 27, & I understand it now. This is gold, I knew there was a reason I remembered this song after all these years
this band sort of sounds like a mix of the postal service and death cab for cutie. and those are two of my favorite bands. I love this. And I just found it.
I was surprised when I found out that the same singer (Ben Gibbard) sings for both those bands, but thanks for your comment, I didn't realize the similarities!! When fireflies from Owl City came on the radio I had thought the Postal Service released new music!! Haha
This song reminds me of a very dear friend of mine from middle school. Her name was Rebecca, I would go to her house after school and we would listen to playradioplay and other indie rock bands. She became my friend when I was a fucking outcast and loner. She accepted me when nobody else did. She took her life a few years ago. She was the sweetest girl I've ever met and I will never forget her and what she did for me. Rest in peace Rebecca. This world doesn't deserve you.
I came across this and remembered sitting in my garage almost 10 years ago crying hysterically thinking I was that "little bird that was severely hurt".... this life and all that it is... splendor and avarice
this is the best song ever. i swear. most songs, after awhile i get sick of them. I can't get enough of this song. and btw for paint thats pretty good (;
Thank you so much for making this all those years ago. I've watched this video off and on for over ten years, and it looks like a lot of others have too.
I’ve been thinking about this song for a few weeks but couldn’t remember the name. I’m happy I found it tonight 💕 I remember watching this video 13 years ago. Feels like the blink of an eye. Simple times back then.
In general i adore the song itself. And then i stumbled upon this video which authorizes the meaning behind the words, and wonderfully made. Massive Skills. Both you and Dan Hunter (author a.k.a Playradioplay) Both of you expand upon such a solid language and turn it into something that means more. Your following the lyrics but you also show some instances that show your interpretation. All in all Good Job.
now looking back, i loved PRP, Still do, but i am even more impressed with the production now after traveling to other genres and artists and listening to this after....3, maybe for 4 years later. a true musician.
Here again to say that I love this track; part of why is because Daniel Hunter (PlayRadioPlay!) used Fruity Loops with this production, with his music gear setup in his garage. Always a fan of the feels he conveyed, plus hes got quite a distinct voice in music.
i came up on myspace around the same time as him and always used fruity loops. you probably never heard of atm, laysaphla or blossoming aquatic meadows but yea im from california. feel free to listen to my old tracks if you have time. cheers.
Even though the visuals may be simple because you just used Paint, I really love this. I feel liie the aesthetic matches the song quite nicely, and visually simple as it may seem, I can't imagine how much time it actually took to draw out every panel and put it all together. Anytime I listen to this song on UA-cam, I always watch this video. I thoroughly enjoy it.
OMFG, the first notes of the melody is actually the ring tone of skype like since well like 2 years lol and I was actually thinking bout making a song with something like this.... erm oh well GG PRP you Rawks! :D
Daniel Hunter doesn't have composers. He uses Logic Pro and writes his own music. Now he's using a backing band in live performances. (I asked him when I met him at a movie theatre while he was on tour.)
10 years ago feels just like yesterday when I listen to this song.
