As an engineer I regularly listen to this soundtrack whilst designing and solving problems. Philip Sheppard really did an outstanding job on this series and seems to have captured the thought process that goes through an engineer's mind whilst working and dreaming up solutions, only to see them culminate sometime later. The series was great also, and I have an immense amount of respect for the people interviewed in the documentary - a truly incredible achievement.

What an amazing docu series.. without the music it wouldn't be the same.. the music and the way they made the series it really is amazing.. It makes you feel like you played a part yourself in the Apollo program.. and felt the feelings they felt.
agreed. When they have this play, and are just showing all of the engineers faces between footage of the saturn V... It brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it. Truly awe-inspiring!
Thank you soo very much for posting these here, this sound track is apart of my soul. Anytime I hear it I think back to watching this stuff with my father before he passed away, we shared a passion for everything flight & space flight related. God I miss him, every single day...
OH MY GOD. My EARS... YEs. YEEES!!! YAAAASSS!!!!!!!!! Now if someone can get Richard Oliphant to get his full "When we left earth" score out! I still want those!
A truly wonderful documentary series, but boy is this music just magnificent! It is so inspiring and really seems to capture the spirit of endeavour and discovery somehow. Just brilliant! Thank you Philip Sheppard
I realized after rendering that a song (Saturn Builder) was not only missing from this upload, but from my own collection of Sheppard's music. So, here it is, unlisted. ua-cam.com/video/PotkqYcenQo/v-deo.html
There is a track in the documentaries which I could not find for years. It is played during the CM water drop test. It has a kind of fast phase piano score which is unique in the whole series as far as I remember. It is not in this compilation nor could not be found anywhere.
Can anyone help me, there's a video called "Alex Harold compilation 2014", and right after the play the song Hanger there is another song they play. I'm trying to figure out what song it is

Interesting comment. "Engineers can do anything."
Yeah, me too.
Agreed, nicely said.
The best soundtrack I have ever heard in a science documentary.
I agree. Up to now, I always thought the best soundtrack was For All Mankind, by Brian Eno. But I think this tops it.

String theory... bloody hell is that song amazing
Gosh that theme in Lunar Reflection at 32:25 - such a wonderful piece of music. I only wish it were longer!
String Theory is just fantastic !!! It represents in perfection the Lunar challenge.
It was my favorite track from the series as well :)
Moon machines the gold standard of space docos. Philips wonderful, atmospheric soundtrack helped to cement the thought with me.

I absolutely love this music. Have watched these documentaries over and over, as much for the soundtrack as the Apollo stuff!
