for my Black Belt Grading I had to learn every single move I had ever learned in the reverse stance and near on perfect them to pass. The grading is usually around 12 Hrs to complete. But, once I'd completed that grading I went back to my dominant stance immediately lol But, to still be able to strike from the opposite stance is handy. And if really needed I can do it. But, my instructor always said make sure your dominant side is perfect. The opposite stance is rarely used. Especially in real life situations. Great content as always Joe. I LOVE this channel!!!

Dang, Joe. I totally understand why you chose not to fight professionally anymore (I've been concussed while sparring before. IT SUCKS), but it would be awesome to watch you throw combos like no one else again.

new to the channel and love all the videos. Learning so much from you. I am naturally left handed. I spar and fight both sides. But for some reason i prefer orthodox stance when I punch/box but with power and spin kicks I feel more comfortable in southpaw stance. I dont know if thats odd or if there are other fighters like that. it has its pros and cons.

If I do a lot of kicks with my dominant leg that has more power and force how do I compensate for the muscle imbalance in my opposite leg well as the lack of repetition is there certain stretches that would compensate for the difference

What is the best martial art combo for self defense or street fights. I know that you shouldn’t fight in the street but sometimes you can’t prevent it

A lot of youtubers say hooks lead to fractures. They also talk about moving a little to the side, then throwing straight punches, to avoid injuries.
PS: From my own limited experience, a jab to the chin will ''freeze'' someone for a few seconds. Back then it didn't cross my mind, but sweeping the front leg would have been a good follow-up.
I'm short, so I usually punch up. If you're taller, the angles change, you might hit the top of the head.

Self defense situations can vary so pick an art that trains you to adapt in the moment. If you're worried about hand to hand most styles will give you an edge . But in my opinion kudo or enshin/ashihara are the most complete style for hand to hand. Krav Maga is probably best for self defense as a whole.
