I knew that you would love this. What I call proper music. Full of juicy bits of musicality. Akane prefers the faster numbers but she is such a genius at controlling these slower songs- all her playing in the drops/bridges etc is fantastic- cross stick, rims and cymbals etc.

Band Maid, Lovebites and Babymetal are all great but there are many more Japanese bands that are worth reacting to, rather than flooding the comment section with like 30 links to various bands/songs I'll just stick to one. NEMOPHILA / REVIVE [Official Live Video] ua-cam.com/video/xlIbcjqN5ao/v-deo.html Very briefly they are a a metal band, they can go heavy or soft depending on the song, they used to have 5 members but the guitarist on the right quit this year (they are continuing as a 4 piece and are working on stuff right now).

Enjoying watching your discovery and analysis of Japanese rock/metal bands. Weirdly I just can't get into bandmaid and lovebites but babymetal have me hook line and sinker 😂. Think its the tonal quality of Su-Metal that just does it for me. There is a young female band called Nek that are impressive ('Get Over' was song that hooked me). Atarashii Gakko are a sort of indy dance idol group whose lead Suzuka is a force of nature who likes crowd surfing while singing 'Tokyo Calling' (recent Collab with shimi took me to a place heavier than I would normally go). Lastly MetalVerse from the babymetal stable. Lead singer has a voice that's sublime ('Naked Princess'), but unclear if management are giving it enough attention.
