    Ingenious puzzle, thanks for sharing AND explaining. I like your backdrop table and when you stopped the music so we could hear the rattle I was wishful that it would not return. I like hearing the ambient sounds and it is easier to hear and concentrate on what you are saying. Also the close- up video shots and lighting were very artistic. 👍👍👍

    Very clever Mr. Puzzle; the solution and the mechanism.
    It's interesting that the puzzle itself lacks any moving parts one can manipulate externally, thereby forcing the user to shake the puzzle. Interestingly that is exactly what has to be done in order to solve it; shaking and turning.
    Imagine how difficult this puzzle would have been had the designer added fake moving pieces on the outside? Like dials or sliding tabs that give the illusion that something inside must be 'aligned' just right in order to open it? A false path. It could (have been) downright diabolical.

    • @robertlozyniak3661

      Mr. Puzzle has in fact reviewed exactly such a puzzle. It is spherical, with rings of symbols which can be turned in the manner of setting the combination on a combination lock. However, these rings are a complete red herring.

    Cool mechanism, but 99$ for a "One Time Solver" it's too pricey for me. This would easily fit in the Hanayama line for 12-15$ and would be a buyer. And yes i understand, machining every puzzle one by one is a costly process, so it's just another joyful Mr. Puzzle video for me.

    I think they made the puzzle easier on purpose increasing the luck factor so you can open it by accident. WIth a few tweaks just removing the luck factor this would be insanely difficult if you don't know the mechanisme.

    • @groowanderer
      @groowanderer 4 роки тому +1

      Yes, but when the mechanism is completely hidden, and there's no reward based evolution (such as steps you've completed and you know it) then it can be very frustrating. It's a fine line between fun and overly frustrating in puzzles like this.

    • @robertlozyniak3661
      @robertlozyniak3661 4 роки тому +1

      The way the puzzle was designed, it seems as though the *intent* is that it be solved "by accident" -- that it be solved by sheer persistence rather than any sort of logic or insight.
      I would like to see a mechanical "puzzle" whose solution is simply to shake it 1000 times, and which when solved, reveals its mechanism to be nothing more than a mechanical counter for counting shakes!
