To be honest there isnt a good explanation for why The colossal titan disappeared. its more of a plot hole that you just gotta ignore for the sake of driving the story forward. There ought to of been a colossal titan empty body left behind that would eventually breakdown but they just didnt do it like that for some odd reason.
No, I can't explain right now because SPOILERS but the logic in that checks out. Just don't lump it with the rest of the regular titans.

It’s Marcel Galliard. Reiners friend who was eaten by Ymir. He’s not physically standing next to him since he’s dead but Reiner is thinking of him.
