This song is at the top of my gym playlist.. Hell yeah they killed both dance moves and song…I don’t know where I get strength every time when I listen to this song. Hahaha.. Thanks again for this reaction, Laken!! ❤❤❤
Although I don't really understand most of what is happening in EXO's "Electric Kiss" MV -- which was released in 2018 -- I think what it is showing us is EXO traveling between space and time and across dimensions. When you pair the MV with each of the member's individual pre-release teaser clips, it is thought that "Electric Kiss" is showing EXO -- or maybe now that we know about X-EXO (EXO's alter ego clones), maybe it's X-EXO -- as they have fully realized their full power potential. That's why we see Chanyeol create the explosion -- he no longer has the gentle little flame that we see in their debut "Mama" MV or the spark that we see in their "Ko Ko Bop" MV, for instance -- his power is now fueled by anger or a need to eliminate someone or something, etc. (We also see things like Kai, Baekhyun and Chanyeol, etc. dressed in red, which is often an indication that that could mean they are being controlled by the Red Force or they could be X-EXO.) Yet again, notice how the lights in the MV are blue and red. Blue represents EXO and red is the Red Force, and when you see blue and red in the same scene or purple -- red and blue mixed together make purple -- this usually means EXO and the Red Force are battling for control, etc.
It is thought that the wings we see Chanyeol has in this MV could possibly be dragon wings. One theory has been since Kris, Luhan and Tao (EXO's former Chinese members) left the group, that the other members have absorbed their powers. Kris and Chanyeol were power counterparts. Kris had the power of flight and his spirit animal was a dragon and Chanyeol has the power of fire and his spirit animal is a phoenix, so they were connected because they both had elements of flight and fire in their powers. Therefore, it's thought that maybe Chanyeol took on Kris' powers of the dragon. We also see D.O. in that room full of film reels. In EXO's "Monster" and "Lotto" MVs, D.O. is the one who is filming everything that is happening and it is through that it's his videotape that Chanyeol gives to the girl at the end of "Lotto." Therefore, in "Electric Kiss," it's almost as if the films are the collection of videos that D.O. has been accumulating. However, I am not really sure if they are intended as evidence to be used against the Red Force, or if the videos are supposed to be used for blackmail or if they are part of the Red Forces' plan for control, etc. It's not clear whether D.O. is the good and pure EXO member or if he is an X-EXO member under the control of the Red Force, etc. In EXO's "Love Shot" MV we see the members in the movie theater and Suho is trying to prevent the members from seeing whatever is on the movie screen (and now we also see Chen and Xiumin in what is thought to be that same theater in their new "Let Me In" MV), and we see what is thought to be the Red Force using video images of the forest to try and trick Suho into forgetting that he is trapped in the maze in their "For Life" MV and Chen projected on the video screen in EXO's "Lucky One" MV, etc. However, in "Electric Kiss" Xiumin is the one that is filming with the video camera this time, and it's almost as if he is using it as he plays the lookout for the other members. We see Xiumin use the video camera to see Sehun who is in the building across from him, and he is watching Baekhyun who is in the parking lot area between the buildings, etc. Some theories even say that "Electric Kiss" is showing us the members teaming up. For instance, we see Baekhyun with his power of light, seem to combine his power with Sehun's wind power -- which we see depicted with the tornado -- and we see Chen's power of thunder and lightning with the lightning storm raging in the background. For a long time, a lot of theories have thought that Suho is the one character who is unable to choose sides and that is why we see him always trying to save or rescue the members regardless of whether they are being controlled by the Red Force or not, which is also thought to be the case in "Electric Kiss." One theory is that Suho cannot choose a side, in fact he refuses to. This theory speculates that he doesn't believe that any of the members could truly be evil and he thinks in the end things eventually can be made right once again. And as the leader and guardian of EXO -- Suho in Korean means guardian -- he doesn't want to do anything that would cause a rift between the members. As we see in "Electric Kiss", he feels trapped in a literal box, which is why that's where he is for the majority of the MV. Suho feels like he can't do much to fix things at this point, so he uses his power of water as a mirror to force the other members to see themselves and to get them to reflect on the destruction they've caused or to really pay attention to what is happening all around them. By forcing them to each look at themselves, they then realize that they can break free from the Red Forces' control. With Suho's help, they all realize what they really want to do is what's best for the group, and in the end, they discover everything that they can accomplish with the full potential of their powers unlocked. There is tons more going on in this MV, and there are a lot more theories, but these are just a few that readily come to mind. Absolutely everything EXO does under SM is connected and SM never loses sight of that, even when they release a Japanese album or single. Nothing in this MV was random or done without a specific purpose and it's all meant to connect to everything they have done so far and most likely anything to come in the future, across all languages and countries. "Electric Kiss" is one of EXO's Japanese exclusive tracks, so that explains why the MV is short. Japanese songs and albums from Kpop artists are produced and marketed by Japanese companies, so that is why they have different/more strict copyrights. Often, the only way you can hear the full version of the song for free is if you watch a dance practice video, or you see a performance from one of their Japanese concerts. Japanese songs often aren't even promoted outside of Japan, so we often only know about Japanese songs if we follow the group or artist really closely and are paying attention to everything they do. EXO doesn't perform "Electric Kiss" very often, and I think they only promoted it on Japanese programs and perform it at Japanese concerts. The choreography for EXO's "Electric Kiss" is one of the most complex dances in the industry. There are more than 30 unique transitions in this dance and they are constantly moving. No one is in the same position twice in the dance. Also if you pay attention to some of the moves in the choreography, several of the moves could be interpreted as the members using their EXO superpowers. For example, we see that in the beginning when D.O. is in the front and center he reaches up and makes a pulling motion, which causes the other members to move as if he is pulling them. This is a representation of D.O. using his power of force i.e. super strength to pull the members toward him. And when the members are standing in the line and hold their hands up and shake them back and forth, this could be them summoning their powers, etc.
Sehun is the most strict person when it comes to dress code, if he finds an exol who doesn't follow the dress code he will remembering them to adhere to the dress code. but often I find that he doesn't care about the dress code 😂
Sehun was sick it was his first time dancing tye choreo , tye Japanese songs comes in short versions , so they can buy the full version If they like it
Honestly the album "countdown" is my no. 1 album by them.. And it was actually what got me into them in the first palce. You should check out the whole album ✨
Omg YEEESSSS finally 🎉🎉🎉 you should have added on their other Japanese songs coming over and love me right romantic universe version and then the live version of coming over
usually their Japanese releases are just short versions except for Love Me Right i think. i don't get it either why AVEX does that. maybe they do it like teasers?! 😅 they only show the full versions in Japan. while making the mv, D.O. was suffering from a shoulder injury & he was in pain when he was doing their performance. you can even see it on the mv if you look closely. his dedication is admirable. btw! there's an Electric Kiss performance in 3D version. the funny/cute thing there was everyone was so serious except for Baekhyun. 😂 he kept on smirking while looking on camera.
They save the full MV for the CD&DVD version of the album and then usually only put photocards in the other version(s) in an attempt to get people to buy more albums-.-
The transitions and how fast the formation changes in the choreo is the reason EXO dont want to perform this song again, as per Xuimin 🤣 even EXO themselves try to avoid performing this song now Thank you so much once again for this reaction
There *IS* a full version. It's supposed to be an exclusive perk for a specific version of CD that includes a DVD; Japanese music companies love this ploy~ It's a shame, cause it's one of their best MVs, imo~~~ A quick google search for "exo electric kiss full version" found me a tumblr page with the full version in the first few results^.^
