One last thing. Remember seeing Simmo in the car park. Loading up after racing. Think he has a simca car !! What a absolute gentleman. My dad who was well in his 70s by then who was with me. Simmo could not have been more friendly had time for a chat hence my dad who only started going speedway in 1974 said on the way home. What a lovely man hence absolutely loved Simmo. Funny little things like that
Whether this was the british league or league cup (London cup was cancelled) we (Hackney) lost both fixtures (48-30 and 43-35) at Wimbledon. Thanks for posting. I would love to see more speedway archives from the 70's and 80's, great memories.
Only went there once. Division 2 riders championship. Can’t remember the year. Probably about 1978. Mike Ferreira won. Great, as I was a Canterbury supporter. I remember it was packed. Great night for a Crusaders fan
Love these old clips to. Poole fan. You are one lucky guy! All the best. Hope British speedway sorts itself out. Dire state. Hope Coventry come back. Going to Cardiff again this year. It is awesome! awesome!
+StifleroGaming HD Thanks You.....its been good to get some of my footage out there for people to enjoy, and I have just purchased a brand new video camera so watch this space............Cheers Barry
Thanks for the upload. Nice to see some footage from the 80's. That said, Plough Lane had to be the most boring Speedway track I have ever visited. An absolute 'Gaters Paradise'.
Thanks Barry, yes many a good Thursday night at the Speedway at Plough Lane.....I awlays enjoyed the Plough Lane Track and watched some good racing there over the years.......cheers Barry
@@BarryPrice1959 i agree plough lane was a great track in years gone by but at the end it was a show of what iy once was, the track had got smaller and smaller over the years and it ruined it, oh for the days of Ronnie Moore and Barry Briggs,
I’m sure I went to this match been a hackney fan but a speedway fan. What was the teams ??? Riders ? I did go to Wimbledon also from 1985 thought it was a decent race track. Amazing as a teenager Crayford if I got a lift !! White city Wednesday. Thursday Wimbledon Friday hackney. And rye house Sunday.
This was the Dons Vs Hawks League Cup match 06/05/1982. Dons - Paul Woods, Roger Johns, Kai Niemi, Brad Oxley, Malcolm Simmons, Anders Eriksson, Alan Mogridge. Hawks - Bo Petersen, John Titman, Finn Thomsen, Sean Willmott, Toni Kasper, Martin Hagon, Jens Rasmussen. Shame that they only showed the first seven heats, as Hackney had 5-1 in the next two heats!
Saw some cracking meetings between my beloved Hawks and the Dons over the years. Real feisty affairs at times.
Excellent to watch i was with my dad at the starting line good old days..😁
Yes loved wimbledon speedway had some great racing there..... Cheers Barry

Nice to see speedway bikes and riders that aren't advertising billboards.
I raced there for glasgy tigers and a lunatic called Terry Mussett knocked me off.
