  • Experimental video format! Without music, only the construction process is very detailed. If you liked it, let me know!
    In this video, I show how I made a warm Swedish foundation for a small house (bathhouse). The whole process of building a bathhouse can be found on the channel (video with music), here is only the foundation and in great detail step by step.

    Very nicely done. An expensive but outstanding way to do it. I’m a retired builder and in the US most homes are eight times this size and few people want to pay for its added cost. In 30 years, I only had 2 clients willing to go forward with such a great system. I’m impressed with your work. Excellent in every way. 👏🇺🇸✌️

    Friends, this is an experimental video format for my channel. There is no music in the video, only natural sounds. The video is not accelerated much. The construction process is very detailed. If you like this video format, let me know - put likes, write comments!
    There was already a video on the channel of the complete construction of my bathhouse (with music, very dynamic) - ua-cam.com/video/9h3MQk1guYI/v-deo.html

    This is fun. Very Very Different. Layering such excellent material. Wow. Insulate the sides and a small hydronic boiler and pipes even in the gravel. Oh now the tech boards all around. Too bad all that thermal mass can't have it's own heat source. Oh my goodness! I thought this was not about concrete. Oh well. I have lost count. First an excellent job leveling the site. Then buried two inch pipes with the welding in the corner. Cloth barrier. Large three or five inch pipes ~ two or three out in the middle and peripheral then a generous layer of gravel. Another Cloth Barrier. A generous layer of fill dirt with the orange drain pipes over that and some black piping around those. Compacted. Then the insulated board, the hydronic piping and then concrete. Whoo wee. Dizzy I am. 〰✨🌿👍🌿✨〰

    I like the video and especially the lack of music, which usually ruins videos like this. Sometimes I would like to know what's going on, maybe use captions? It doesn't need to be too verbose, just quick thoughts and comments about what is going on. Thanks for making the video.

    Building a house literally 8 ft from the edge of a large lake/ocean - water area seems pretty crazy to me! What if large waves come up? Rise in water levels?

    • @tlangdon12
      @tlangdon12 18 днів тому +1

      This house is at the edge of the Baltic Sea, and storms are fairly mild. Bizarrely the land there is currently rising faster than the sea (The land is still rebounding after the last Ice Age), although global warming means that soon the rate of sea level rise will overtake the rate at which the land is rising, but while the difference in rates remains small there is no immediate problem.

    I like these videos how much would you estimate the materials cost for a slab of this size in your country? In your currency I am curious the cost per sq.ft or sq.m.

  • @SylwerDragon

    Nice video. I have only few remarks. First i think that house will be just too close to water or end of the hill.. 4-5 meters from end of the hill is good start that is where foundations should be.
    2. I think you underestimated those hoses probably for electricity shouldn't stay inside the concrete i expect you spend too much time to take them out and find the best way how to deal with rest. Also 3. i was surprised you didn't use any foil at the bottom of insulation. I believe it should go there and one last time..i didn't notice but i believe that steel mesh on bottom did stay on insulation. I believe those hoses should be inside the concrete and not on the bottom. outside of that good work..and i hear a lot of mosquitos..for sure it wasn't easy at that time ..

    What does this have to do with Sweden? This is the most common slab foundation with self-made L-elements. Ready L-elements are usually used.
    Какое это имеет отношение к Швеции? Это самый распространенный плитный фундамент с самодельными краевыми элементами. Обычно используются готовые L-элементы.

  • @WorldWideWillem-360
    @WorldWideWillem-360 14 днів тому

    No music is great!! But zero explanation of the function of the various pipes makes this very tough to follow. OK, the red/blue pipes are radiant heat. But what are the thicker orange ones for, or is that simply sewer and has nothing to do with heating. Then the the thick black pipes, some have insulation within and some don't, their function is a mystery :).

    El trabajo es estupendo y muy detallado pero ese sistema de construcción es poco rentable y demasiado complejo para una simple cabaña. Es hacer complejo y costoso lo fácil y sencillo. Económicamente no es viable y creo en mi humilde opinión, que innecesario para esa construcción.
