I'm from Indonesia. I'm very interested with chiang rai because want to visit the White Temple and other destinations in chiang rai. Thank you for this nice video
Salamat Pagi! Glad you have enjoyed the video. There are 2 more videos about Chiangrai here : ua-cam.com/video/bdEM8MMWzQY/v-deo.html Thanks so much and hope videos in this channel are useful for your next trips :)
Very Professional quality video. Thank you for the introduction to Chiang Rai. The White Temple was an amazing exhibit a couple years ago. Highly recommended place to visit.
I have visited Chiang Rai twice but your video has shown me some more points of interest for my next visit during Loi Kratong/Yi Peng this year . thank you
Thanks for watching, Russell. Wish you a great trip to Thailand this year. Loy Kratong Festival is one of the best time of the year to visit Northern Thailand :)
Totally a great video! I lived there for a year for a high-school exchange program. I lived with a thai hostfamily and they're really nice! This makes me feel missing Chiang Rai even more!
Hi Annisa, thanks for watching! Chiangrai has a very beautiful nature, but more importantly for Thai people, it is the home of our Princess Mother, the mother of King Ananda Mahidol and King Bhumibol, who has worked so much for Thailand's development for several decades. Please enjoy other videos of Chiangrai and other places in this channel :) bit.ly/2hEgFK7
Great video! I'm going to Chiang Rai next month for the first time. So excited. You mentioned that you recommend renting a car, what what a motorbike? Is it too far to drive from place to place on a motorbike? Thanks!
Hi Chrissy, thanks for watching. Motorbike is a bit dangerous for those who are not familiar with as the landscape in Chiangrai is full of mountains. You can try motorbike in some areas. I think SUV / 4-wheel drive type of cars would be great as you can drive to any mountains (Doi, in local language) you want and put all your belongings in a car. Please do not forget to visit the Hall of Inspiration at Doi Tung Villa as this is the origin of how Chiangrai has been developed to what it is nowadays. Enjoy your trip!
Yes. There're a lot of beautiful temples in CHIANGRAI. For 'The Emerald Buddha', the original one is in the Grand Palace in Bangkok now, but it was first discovered in CHIANGRAI about almost a thousand years ago. Before the emerald buddha was moved to CHIANGRAI (at Wat Phra Kaew), it is believed that it was in Sri Lanka and Cambodia before. There are still more videos of CHIANGRAI. Please stay tuned :)
Hello! I’m visiting Thailand next month for the first time and I can’t wait! I have a couple of questions hopefully you can give me some advise? 1- Whats the easiest way to get to Chiang rai from Chiang Mai? 2- Is the white temple, blue temple at the same location? 3- Lastly, do you know if it gets colder in December? I’ve heard some parts in northern Thailand tend to get cold? Thank you so much! 🙏🏼 sah wah dee khrap
Another gorgeous vid. Art, I had 2 questions: 1. What are those scary dragons that I always see at the entrance to the temple? 2. Is it ok to photo/video the buddha statue? I heard that it was taboo. Thanks again!
Thanks so lot for watching the videos. 1. The creature similar to 'Dragon' is called 'Naga'. It is in a fairy tale in different countries in Asia, especially in Indo-China. Naga is a big serpent found in the river. It is a belief that 'Naga' also lives in Mekong river, which flows from China through Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. You will find 'Naga' sculpture in many temples in Thailand. 2. For photo taking, it depends on the places you visit. Some temples in Bangkok, e.g. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha in the Grand Palace, photo taking is prohibited inside the main church (outside is ok). But for temples in different parts of Thailand and Southeast Asia, most of them allow visitors to take photos and videos, but please be noted for appropriateness e.g. do not focus on the faces of the monks. Hope you'll enjoy more trips and learning local cultures!!
Thank you so much for your kind message, Zakir. I am glad the videos are useful. Please enjoy and I will keep on creating more videos. Maybe I shall visit your home country to film the program too! HAPPY NEW YEAR 2018 to you and family :)
Thanks, Adneen, for your message. You can still find flowers in Chiangrai, but the best time is during Nov-Feb of every year. Wish all the videos from Chiangrai in this channel are useful for you!
infact I have decided to visit Chiang Rai seeing this video..I was dazzled seeing flowers in bloom in the Royal Garden and the White temple as well..I wish I could but I got the time off in mid to end of June ... if the flowers aren't in bloom in the garden I will e very disappointed ! :( Thanks a bunch.
There will still be some flowers and the weather will be not too hot in June. I am sure you will have a GREAT time there. Please don't forget to try some local food too :) All the best.
It's gonna be my third time visiting Thailand as I fell in love with the country. This time I'm going north, how's the transportation in Chiang Rai? Are there gonna be tuktuks that can take me to one place to another? Thanks! By the way, Awesome wide angle video!
Thanks for watching, John. In central Chiangmai, there is a public transportation which is RED BUS. But in Chiangrai, I would suggest you rent a car with driver or if you can drive yourself, that's great. It is easier to have your own car to explore around. For some mountainous areas, it is recommended to use SUV or 4-Wheel Drive Vehicle. Enjoy your trip!
