    This is such a good video idea! I think its interesting to see how different the brush pen colours show up on different types of paper and how different they are from each other🤔 I often have those moments when I'm using a certain brush pen or highlighter on certain paper all the time and then it appears not the way I thought it would on other papers😅 This will be very good for reference!

      Thank you for watching Charnay! Yess it's crazy how much paper affects how the colours turn out!!!!

    Great idea to swatch on different papers - I've done mine in a Hobonichi Weeks-sized notebook, but not on regular paper. Yet 😀
    ETA: Tombow have changed some of the colour names since I bought my first ones. 942 used to be called Tan, and 850 was Flesh - I guess they wanted to get away from the caucasian skin tone names.
    Also, "process" means it's one of the exact colours used in 4-colour printing, i.e. yellow, cyan/blue and magenta (and black of course, but that's just black!). Hence it has to be bright when at full saturation, in order to replicate intense colours in photos.

    Chartreuse the color gets its name from the French liqueur made by an order of monks whose monastery was located in the Chartreuse Mountains. Much like Angostura bitters, the complex recipe is only known by a limited number of people and continues to be a closely guarded secret. The color is a result of the chlorophyll that comes from the plant material that is used in its production. It has an unusual and complex flavor that is described by some as licorice with spices. We have a local restaurant that has a chartreuse prawn recipe as an appetizer currently.

    I like this swatching idea very much. I started out like you, thinking I wasn't going to get that many of the Dual brush pens, but I've amassed nearly the whole set. This Christmas I was gifted the tombow marker storage organizer and I love it yeah, because I can see all the colors I have right in front of me

    I love seeing the two papers comparison. I think the bright ones that you dislike are very appealing. What about a fruits series> That dark blue looks like blueberries, the yellow a lemon, the bright yellow green, a lime, etc. You have such cute doodle!

    What a relaxing way to spend some time watching you colour swatch. My selection of Tombow markers is really small still but, like my fountain pen collection, I have a feeling it will grow. 😆 Also good to hear your opinion on each and to see them swatched on both types of papers. Def saving this video. Thanks Helen! 🙌🏽

    I honestly don’t know, but would the multiple swipes/colouring the dots in the bullet journal make it darker as well (vs. The single swipe on the Tomoe paper)?

    Chartreuse is a French liqueur made of 130 unique herbs and botanicals. It is naturally green (from chlorophyll) or naturally yellow (from saffron).

    5:26 From Color Psychology: “Chartreuse Color
    Chartreuse is a shade between the colors green and yellow, but it is typically considered a sub-category of the color green. The color was named after a French liqueur called “chartreuse” which has a greenish-yellow hue. The liqueur was first produced in 1605 by the Carthusian monks of France, but likely not marketed to the public until the 1730s. The name of this drink was first used as a color name in the year 1884 when it was mentioned in a British fashion newspaper.” I was interested in the name and found this. from Ohio 🇺🇸

    I love this, but your methodology isn’t consistent for comparison purpose: you do one line without overlap in your Cousin, but you have colour overlap in your Leuch. My tombows look different when I go over them, which you do in your bullet journal. Not the end of the world, but just something to keep in mind for future comparison!

      I think she did that with the ones she uses the most because they weren't as juicy and headed to the may need replacing. Additionally she uses them a lot so it's also her perception of how she sees the colors.

    Question, please, lovely people: does the Hobonichi Cousin grid paper have the same sized grid as the Hobonichi Weeks paper? I’m really keen on getting a Hobonichi Cousin for next year but MUCH prefer the grid size of Leuchtturm and Midori. (I also prefer my paper to be a little more substantial than the Tomoe River paper, so we’ll see how my saga plays out 😂.). Love the creativity as usual, Helen!!!! Happy Sunday and Happy Year of the Rabbit!

    • @superfund42
      @superfund42 Рік тому +1

      JetPens says the Weeks is 3.6mm and the Cousin (and the Original) is 3.7mm. It's a tiny difference but I do actually notice it between books. Looks like Midori is a 5mm grid though, so you might want to stick with that if you don't want to go smaller.

    TBF you’re doing two different types of swatching. A single line on the Tomoe River and a circle where you’re doubling the intensity of the color on the other…🤔😒
